Malawi gay couple sentenced to 14 years in prison

You have to respect other countries laws and cultures though. There are loads of countries where gay sex is not allowed, just as there are lots of countries with a legal age of consent younger than ours which may make people uncomfortable.
Why, exactly, do I have to respect other countries laws and cultures? It's perfectly fine to be absolutist about some issues.

A pointless analogy, as there isn't.
How is it pointless? You seem to be saying that these men shouldn't have openly flouted the law, for doing what they feel is natural to them, yet in a hypothetical situation where what comes naturally to you is illegal, you don't care to comment about what you would do?

The judge should be executed for crimes against humanity and then the civilised countries should withdraw aid. It does beg the question though, why not just kill the police officers if you knew they were coming to arrest you? It would be totally justified after all.

personal opionion von smallhausen.

as for jc-retro. it is wrong. its disgusting. just think about it logically. 2 members of the same sex having sexual feelings towards each other.

oh btw im 17 years old and an atheist

I would imagine your opinion would be different if they were two very attractive women who just happened to have sexual feelings for one another.

As for the judgement, well in the modern world it is ass backwards (excuse the pun).

They probably couldn't stand the sight of you and your acts of hetrosexuality either. You think about it logically, in fact don't even bother replying until you have a basic understanding of the human brain.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but it should not infringe others freedoms, you can hate homosexuals but keep it to yourself.

I think a lot of people who hate on gay guys do it because they don't want to see 2 guys having sex and believe that because a guy is gay they're forcing that on them.

I don't want to see 2 guys at it but only as much as I don't want to see some girl with a strap on with a guy. Well, that's my thoughts about it anyway. :)

Wow, I cant imagine why so many people got so mad over this ...

...

They didnt get stoned to death like in Iran at least, where the President thinks that Homosexuality doesnt even exist :p.

IMO, all the countries on that legal age list that say Married / Illegal / Illegal = Nuke plz .

I don't understand why in personal opinion a person thinks that it's "wrong" to be gay/etc. they feel the need to take it away from people who don't believe it is "wrong".

Its crap whats happened, but it happens.

Its also a time to look inward to the UK. The UK is still very much lacking.

The 2 main ones for me are:

1 - Blood donation. Gay men cannot donate blood - But more straight couple have unprotected sex than gay couples now days

2 - Homosexuality being explained in schools. If this were introduced today in 40 years i believe there would be very little prejudice against gay men. It would make it so much easier.

I know you have heard it all before - zzz

Just my 2p

I think it's wrong!

That they were locked up or even sent to trial to begin with :p
If I had the powers of Superman then I'd vaporise everyone responsible for such "laws" that quite clearly force people to live a particular way and deny choice.

re: Point 2
There is a lot less prejuduce against same sex relations today than there was in the generation before us and before them and so on and so on and it's getting less and less as the years go on. In the western work anyway.

I guess the reason for point 1 is that the chances of an std are greater in same sex males than heterosexual males - from news clippings in the media in the past anyway.

Because ignorance tends to lead to opinions like, "this makes me sick," when there's really nothing to be upset by

(Apologies for pointing out the obvious)

On the contrary I think kids being taught about homosexuality in school would be something to be upset by.

Am pretty sure most of the country would too.
