F1 Jake plugging the ipad?!

What has that got to do with anything? Aluminium is mainly used in planes because of the weight involved and the fact its easier to mould. Last i checked plastic is also used in cars and planes for that matter.

Well, the ipad has no heat fan, or holes for that matter, and aluminium radiate heats better than plastic. Fact is it not? Or are you going to say that plastic conduct heat better now? Then you might as well get a sauce pan made out of it.

There are fan boys and there are people just hate apple for no reason at all.

Personally I'd rather have my portable devices made out of something slightly better than plastic, however 'advanced' it is.

And why is that exactly? Did you use laptop's 10 years ago and think "oh my god the agony of typing on this thing, if only, if ONLY it were made of a better material"?

I live in hope that I can one day be as cool as you :/

LOL....you have an awful long way to go to be as cool as me:cool:

You can start off by not getting so offended by my posts...its all a bit of banter dude from me that is, not too sure about you myself but i do find you quite hilarious at times:p:D

Is it even possible for any thread in GD containing anything to do with Apple not to descend into pointless bickering? It is sad and childish.

Looks to me like a good use of the iPad.

Oh well please feel free to go back to bickering about Flash or Apple selling overpriced products including a "giant iPod touch"

There are fan boys and there are people just hate apple for no reason at all.

And then theres people that see through the blatent BS that flows every time Steve Jobs opens his mouth. Only Jobs could peddle an inflated ipod touch and make it out to be the second coming and actually have the brainwashed masses believing it.

Because you are more likely to drop a plastic laptop....

Not quite, they're the two extremes, and indeed they tend to be the most vocal types. In reality, it's not as black and white as that, and I think a lot of people like me are capable of making their own informed decisions on products without bias such as 'Apple hatred/fanboyism'. Some will choose to go the apple route, some won't, both probably with valid reasons.

I don't quite see what the construction material has to do with it. It's just part of the design, big deal. Some things are made from plastic, others aluminuim, I've even seen wooden laptops. The manufacturer probably has their own reasons for using that material.

So you buy things that are not built well?

Aluminium is a better material. A MacBook Pro is built better than the equivalent plastic counterpart, so yes actually, build quality is a rather large factor in my purchasing decisions.

You buy a product for the best combination of build, UI, usability, speed, price, OS, support, looks, etc or whatever YOU think is key.

I bought a MacBook Pro because overall it was the best laptop for what I wanted and I could afford it, so why not?

Will you consider the android version an inflated phone. Everyone realises it uses the iPhone os, no one cares as it has a big screen and the os makes it extremly usable and usefull.
Only you and other hatred have a problem with it being an inflated iPhone.

Personally I don't have an issue with it being an inflated iphone, but I would think that anyone claiming the design was amazing and revolutionary wouldn't be right, as it's not. We've seen it all before in one way or another, just not in this form, but there's not any amazing design ideas or anything brilliantly original about it.

Depends on how you qualify "built well". My pc case is a mixture of steel and aluminium but was bought more for the style of the case than the material it was made out of. (fortress ft02).

Nobody here is claiming it is revolutionary or new in any way.

Your irony detector is clearly not working. Well done

Yeah nice retreat on the subject. Your argument is "you're less likely to drop an aluminium laptop". last i checked accidents happen and because its made of one material or another doesn't make accidents less likely.

PMSL you do make me laugh...unlike apple fanboi's i dont think BB's are the best devices EVAR...thats the difference dear gimpy;)...you do need to go and brush up on your comprehension and reading skills i think:p. But yes im a BB man through and through but even i admit it has its faults unlike a lot of apple fanboi's...so try harder next time eh??

I used a BlackBerry for a while and hated it. I've been using an iPhone ever since and find it a hell of a lot better.

The thing is I don't jump into threads about BlackBerry spouting the same crap that people seem to spout in any thread featuring Apple.

As I said in my previous post it is tiresome and yes that goes for both sides.
