Quick question

i've been left some whiskey by my grandmother which looks like this:

Its been in the cask 8 years, and nearly 40 more years in the bottle (approx)

does this now mean its only fit for the drain ? or something else ? bit clueless when it comes to whiskey. Any advice appreciated :)

Don't know a huge amount but it's interesting that it's labelled as "unblended" rather than as a single malt, I wonder if that's significant.

At the end of the day though it's only an 8 year old whisky, it only matures in the cask, not in the bottle. Therefore it might not have much value unless someone collects the bottles/labels.

As long as the bottle is unopened it will be fine to drink, unlike wine it does not ferment in the bottle and hard liquor tends to have an indefinite shelf life.
Unblended means the same as single-malt.
The only value would be with a collector for the old label.
Id just crack open the bottle and enjoy yourself a nice whiskey.

105 proof ?!?!

That is usually around 52.5% volume aka, pretty strong as normal whiskey is 40%

Looks like someone had a shot of the one on that parkers website, the OP has got whisky in the neck of the bottle.
I'd contact one of the above auction sites if you really want to sell it.
Although personally I'd be too tempted to drink a £200+ bottle of whisky :)
