Ok once this 'Ring event is finished with in the next week or so (probably middle of next week) would anyone be interested in team racing in a Championship style format? I did mention this last week I think in the official FM3 thread but its a quiet thread and not much activity there so I will put forward my idea here.
Basicly 4 teams of 2 compete in races.
The two team members of any team can help each other out with tuning or hints and tips before big races, help each other design the car colours/design as teams do.
All teams use the same car which will be chosen. Nothing too slow or too fast, probably Class B or A and affordable to each member as they will have to buy the car to put on the design/colours for the team. OR 4 equaly specced cars from 4 different manufacturers.
No upgrades allowed or only certain items can be upgraded which can be decided.
Tuning can be carried out.
For chosing the teams I have an idea. Looking at the times people are running in the 'ring Stages it is quite clear who are the better drivers. I am clearly 10 seconds give or take, slower than the top 2 or 3 drivers. I propose teaming the top 4 with the slower drivers so each team will have a fast and not so fast driver in it. Sort of balances things out. In a way. This way each team will be more or less equal.
A points system to be devised for the table, probably similar to Formula 1.
Races to be done at set times well in advance so everyone can be there, example; every second Sunday at 8pm.
Race types? All curcuit? Point to point? Probably best to keep it Curcuit as there are some great tracks in the game and a variety of styles.
So how do you think this sounds? It will take some setting up and making sure everyone is happy with decisions regarding the cars and what upgrades can or cannot be used, who is teamed up with who and who has the final say in the livery to be used.... etc etc.
I think it will be fun, the people posting the times in this thread seem decent folk and I reckon we could all have a good laugh in the racing sessions.. It doesnt have to be serious but having something to race for instead of joining a quick race with randoms. It will or could spark a little more interest from the people who seem to be getting bored of FM3.
Racing with your team mate in the colours/design you both made with your name on the car, your own number for all to see sounds great..
So. What do you think.
