Good grief

It seems someone has gone beserk in Cumbria, shooting several people dead with a shotgun and is currently still at large!

People in the local area have been advised to stay indoors (which I assume you lot are as you're reading this!)

Couldn't see it posted so I thought I'd better let anyone in that area know.

Holy crap

I really hoped that this sort of thing was history in the UK

I'm going there on holiday in september, unlikely he'll be alive by the end of the day however

In these cases they tend to kill themselves when surrounded

at least its only one gunman,

is afganastan they got 1000's, some in helicopter gunships and tanks..

Blatant troll is blatant

back on topic,
i thought the crack down on firearms is supposed to prevent this...

Yet another failed labour law.

My simplifies go out to the families of those dead

The shooter will end up dead soon hopefully

then some nut job group will argue his human rights were violated...

Suppose that would be your attitude if it was one of your family members who had been injured or killed?

I live not far from were this has happened and its horrifying. May they rest in peace and ny thoughts are with their families :-(

Just saw a bit on BBC news where they were talking to a reporter on the scene he said (I paraphrase) "20 yards behind me there is a body in the road"...and he's surrounded by a picturesque looking little town.

And right there in the middle of it is someone who got up this morning, had breakfast, probably admired the sunny day, went out about their business and a couple of hours later are lying dead in the middle of the street.

Life is so strange and random at times...

Not sure why they weren't banned in the first place to be frank, they serve no useful purpose in the UK apart from killing

Because their a usefull tool, i use them regularly to keep the number of rabbits down to an acceptable level on my parents farm.
What need to be done is that to own a firearm you need either to be and land owner and proof that you actually need use or the weapon needs to be stored at a gun club and only used on the gun clubs land.

I'm surprised Al'Quada haven't done stuff like this sooner after the success of the Washington snipers a few years ago, they aren't very good terrorists at all.

:confused::confused::confused:

Unless you ban firearms outright and destroy every single one in the country you can't guarantee it won't happen...

What about all the laws that are routinely broken every day for all sorts of reasons...are they failed laws to blame a political party on as well?

(I'm not a labour supporter btw)

Because if they tried that in somewhere like london the return volley would decimate the car....
