20th Century fox vs Newzbin

How do we know its not the RIAA MPAA?

I'm 99.999% sure it won't be. Just before Newzbin got closed there were rumours that site had been hacked. Some rumours even saying the owners deliberately let the site be hacked so it could reopen if they lost the case. This may have been part of the deal when the arranged the sale of the domian name.

Is it safe?

It'd likely constitute entrapment for a start.

Looks legit to me, plus the story of the URL being sold to a company in the Seychelles "for financial reasons" (more like legal presedence) sounds something a pirate would do :) Who knows - if you want to be ultra cautious sit back and wait i guess.

Just download an NZB and if it works the MPA or who ever would be just as guilty as the previous operators.

Pleased to see my credit is still there. :)

Also, have they filled in all the missing days of retention?

So if a "linux distro" came out in the intervening time, has it been indexed now? Or is there just a gap?

Think they are backfilling as we speak. Obviously no one would have been indexing when the site was offline :)

so what happens with the ruling to take it down? they have to take another set of people to court again over the same thing, im confused as to how you can just start it back up?

Yay, let's all celebrate something that makes taking something we don't own and have no right to being resurrected...

Oh wait, in any other situation morality would kick in...

Which is the best news server to go with?

Astraweb.

Search for astraweb $11 in google, for some reason you cannot get to the $11 deal through their site only google :p

So that's like £7.50 for unlimited downloads, ssl, 654+ days retention (and always going up)
