Due to be announced next week, will you swap the HTC desire for a new iPhone? I'm seriously thinking of it.

Not sure how anyone that has used android and iphone OS for a lengthy amount of time would choose iphone OS 2bh,

This is not a fanboy comment. Iphone for 2 years and android for 6 months no way i would go back

Unless the new iPhone has Android on it (:D), I don't see why anyone would. Even then, it would need to have better hardware, and probably doesn't.

You don't need most "Apple" apps, and have to pay for a large amount of them.

95% of them wouldn't be required if it had a half decent browser anyway.

That's a bit laughable mate, Android Market it terrible for crap applications. Fake icons such as Firefox/Chrome that just launch the standard browser and stupid naked woman applications, left right and centre.

I would go back to the iPhone if it had similar hardware, was more open than previous iPhone OS' with built in USB/WiFi teathering.

Android sucks arse for media :)

I agree the app store needs a lot more work, but there are a vast number of decent apps on it. I think a lot of them get overlooked.

I do dislike the stupid apps that are on it though, yes, they should be moderated out :p

If only android apps where as good as apples

It always makes me laugh when Apple big-up the number of apps - the vast majority of them are complete rubbish! Some of them are complete scams too (7 megapixel camera app, for example).

Had an iPhone for 2 years, and a Desire for 3 weeks and I'd never go back to an iPhone. It's a really slick device, but I love the openness of Android.

Android does suck for media ill give you that.. yet to have a media app with an equalizer

Why buy a Desire if you're going to get the new iPhone when it comes out? The desire has only been out a couple of months and we know no more about the new iPhone (or when it will be released) than we did 2 months ago...

I have just had my hero stolen and am in line for a hefty insurance pay out.

The appeal of possibly picking up an an iphone (for the first time) is:

- should have a higher resolution, which should be good for browsing
- faster loading webpages.
- not having to wait for htc to prepare an update after google releases a new version of android

Downers are:

- itunes, absolute piece of monkey excrement. I hate it
- no flash

I have used android for about 9 months and I think it has many positives. The new iphone is mainly very attractive to me because of a better browsing experience.

Everytime I use an iPhone I just feel... held back. I know a lot of the Android apps aren't as glossy as iPhone apps, but its getting better and will only continue to improve.

Having said that, each to their own.
