I came into some money recently and I needed a new phone, so I thought because I got some money to spare I might as well get one, but when I ask friends and family it starts out as someone saying "Iphone is better!" then the other saying "No blackberry!" and ends with a big fight. so will someone please answer the year old question "Which one is better?"

Personally I can't stand Blackberry.

I had an iPhone happily for the last year, now have a HTC Desire.

You should be deciding between iPhone 4 or HTC Desire lol, now that is a tough one.

You won't get an impartial response in here, but both phones have their plus points. For email the BlackBerry is way better than the iPhone, but for just about everything else the iPhone is better, including web browsing.

Different devices for different purposes, decide what you want first because right now the only similarity is they both make phone calls pretty much...

I don't particularly like Blackberry phones. I just don't get on with them. My friend just bought one - a 9700 (I think) and I had a play around with it but I really didn't like it. Flippin' tiny keys! If i didn't have an iPhone it would be an android one.

Now I like Apple & I like RIM but which is best? There's only one way to find out! FIGHT

iPhone unless you do a lot of (corporate) email. I had a BlackBerry and couldn't stand it but that's me...

My personal phone is an iPhone 3GS, my work phone is a Blackberry 9700 Bold.
Blackberry is far better for email and to actually use as a phone, although browser is painfully slow.

The iPhone is great as a gadget, and for internet use, as the Safari browser is infinitely better than that of the Blackberry. The major downside of the iPhone for me is the very poor battery life.

Ask on this forum, and most will say the iPhone. Ask on the Mobile Phones forum, and most will say 'get an android'. Your question won't really get a straight answer anywhere :)

One is a superb comms device, the other is more of an all rounder.

I love my BlackBerry because I'm constantly dealing with email, and a 'real' keyboard is a massive advantage. However, it's pretty much crap at everything else (except lasting forever on each charge). If I ever got the hang of virtual keyboards and less reliant on email then I could see an iPhone in my future.

I'm perfectly happy with my iphone. I'd seriously consider an Android phone if the hardware is better than it was last summer when it was the T Mobile G2 or the Hero, both of which seemed sluggish. Will probably end up with another iphone next time, just the cost and my strong dislike of Apple would put me off a little.

I don't know anyone apart from business users who have been happy with their BlackBerry.

No one is going to establish once and for all is better, so it's a bit of a daft question. You need to work out which is better for you

I have a work blackberry and hate it. It's ok for email everything else is poor. I prepared my old winmo phone with keyboard for email to be honest.

I now have a Desire and while I am taking a while to get used to the touchscreen keyboard I far prefer it to my blackberry. The modern Android phones such as the Desire are spectacular. You could consider an Android with a keyboard. I believe that HTC are bringing out. Desire with a kb soon.

If its a BB 9700, then I would choose this over an iphone, if its any other BB, forget it.

I like my phones to be phones personally, although I am a huge apple fan (own a 2009 imac, 2010 mbp and a 64gb ipad :o)

I've had a couple of both. I prefer the Blackberry for the instant email and blackberry messenger which I use a lot. iPhone is much nicer for the user experience, some very nifty applications, browsing is just brilliant (browsing on bb is useless) and I like the way it integrates with my mac.

I have both phones, currently on BB but will switch back over to iPhone 4 :D

Both are excellent phones and tbh the only two choices to choose from. Forget, Samsung, HTC etc. BB is good for social communication with bb messenger, emails, facebook etc. iPhone is good for apps, internet browsing, big screen etc. All depends on what you want to use your phone for. I do love my BB 9700 but the new iPhone just looks delicious with it's new body and screen.

I think if I had a BlackBerry, part of me would still want an iPhone. But as an iPhone owner I've yet to use a BlackBerry and want one for myself.
