Car is going to beddy byes for up to 6 months. It will be cleaned before hand and once garaged will have the battery disconnected, hand brake left off and out of gear, wheels chocked and then finally covered.

I cannot think of anything else I would need/want to do but am open to any suggestions. Is it worth over-inflating the tyres a little so that if there is any small leaks I wont come back to a flat being damage by alloy?

The GN went in to storage for 8 months, the company that had it removed the wipers so they didn't deform which I thought was a good idea. The car was on stands as well, I would have thought over-inflating a sound tyre would stress it more than necessary, not sure.

Well, inflating a bit more within tyre spec, I don't mean beyond the max limit.

Had all 4 at 50PSI on an airfield doing all sorts of torturous stuff to them :D I doubt they will go flat but would expect them to lose some pressure in that time. Windscreen wipers are nearly duff so will replace when I get back most likely, didnt think of that though.

I'll be out of the country. The garage is small and I don't trust anyone else to mess with it inside there. I guess there is a risk of some flat spots?

A small one, again depending on how they keep pressure mainly.

I've had tyres sit for a long time and be fine. Even after a complete flat, and being sat on for days. Pot luck.

A flatspot's severity is often a function of the tyre size, structure, load, ambient temperature and time.

Or - magic suggestion - stilt it on bricks. Or, wheels with matching pcd with crappy/waste tyres, space savers or whatever and use them.

Buy a set of axel stands, they aren't expensive, and will alleviate any concerns with the wheels or tyres. (I would personally put a car on stands if it was being left for that long)

You also want to make sure its 100% dry before covering, so it may be worth leaving it in the garage for a day before putting the cover on.

Just had a look around to see if the wiper removal is a common storage thing...others listed over a few sites:

block off your intake and exhaust (small animals nesting?)
if car is covered, crack open the windows slightly, better airflow inside and no top seal deformation
battery conditioner
remove plugs and coat cylinders with fogging oil
be 100% sure your car cover is permeable and vented, otherwise condensation gets trapped in
brim the fuel
write a note of everything you have done and leave it on your dashboard so you know whats what

AA ideas: http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/laying_up.html

Less area for condensation to form and mix with the tiny bit of fuel you have left at the bottom. I don't know squire, those points were from a 5 minute google, that they might help.

Well my cars been outside with the handbrake on and battery still connected for nearly 6 months.

I've been given a date for getting back to the UK now so come July im going to make sure my breakdown cover includeds homestart and pray to hell my handbrake hasn't rusted on.
