Hi all,

6 brand new screens featuring the 2010 cars for the very first time have just been released via Eurogamer, check them out at the below link:

We'll also be releasing a further 2 shots featuring the 2010 cars over the weekend via our F1 2010 Facebook page to coincide with the Canadian GP.

Hopefully you'll be able to see from these screens that following the amount of community feedback we received over the previous lighting levels, things have indeed been changed.

I think any medium spec PC is going to eat this for breakfast.

That is not a bad thing, it just means that the PC is quiet a way ahead of the consoles now in my opinion.

When is this due out then ?
What engine are they using ?
Anybody Beta tested the Handling ?

Answer me Before I explode with excitement at the thought of getting my Momo back out. :o

For truth Dude, Who cares if it looks pretty & rains & the crowds look great if the car handles from a centre axis or is just basically crap & arcade.

The EGO Engine.

Games using the EGO Engine:

Colin McRae: Dirt (2007).
Race Driver: Grid (2008).
Colin McRae: Dirt 2 (2009).
F1 2009 (2009).
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising (2009).
F1 2010 (2010).
Dirt 3 (2010).

When is this due out then?

24th September is the current prediction based on the link below and other comments from the dev.

Anybody Beta tested the Handling ?

Little is yet known about how the game handles at the moment. It is all being kept under wraps.

I would have thought a game of this size would have a public beta at some point.

Then again, Codies are that far up their own ***, they will probably release it how they think it should be released.

The graphics seem pretty decent, but geez - it could really do with a splash of colour! F1 is such a vibrant colourful sport, and yet that seems to have been completely sucked out of it!! Hopefully it'll be possible to tweak that like with GRID

Bit harsh really, we had a reveal event back in March where members of the community were invited down to have a go on a pre-Alpha build of the game. The comments we heard back were all very positive about the handling, don't believe me just check on our forums.

We've also had Inside Sim Racing give the game a hands-on test, where they scored the build they played (pre-alpha build) as an 8/10 (borderline 9) on the handling/physics scale. You can find this on youtube.

Found this (old video) on Youtube, but it's not what you said. Just shows how much they've focused on handling, here's to hoping it isn't all advertising but it actually simulated well.

This should be the video that has comments on F1 2010 handling from insidesimracing.tv. You may want to skip ahead to about 2/3 through as the first part is an interview, which you may know a lot about what's mentioned already.

From what I can see, they've been fairly generous considering, I'd like to hear from some of the others at that event, but I don't know if any were similar to those guys who've posted up their opinions.

As mentioned in some of the other threads, Inside Sim Racing, whilst good, have a habit of scoring a game as per it's market, so you can't really compare the 'handling/physics' scores from something like F1 2010 to the scores from sims like rFactor/iRacing/LFS etc...

My theory is that it will be ok handling, but very much an arcade game, which is fine as that's where the market is...

I'll play the demo, but I think I'll be waiting till iRacing has the Williams FW31 released before I play any F1 based stuff seriously :)

Still seriously unimpressed by the graphics as well! Looks very dated in those screen shots, although it is still early stages i guess. Looking at DIRT2 we can see at least the minimal benchmark of what the graphics in the final version should end up being like.
