So... I'll likely make another topic later on for consoles, but for now I'll try and focus on PC.

Command and Conquer - pretty much everything. I *LOVED* the voice of Eva. Kane was amazing too... I completed both campaigns, and everything about the game screamed quality.

Doom. I seriously couldn't believe this game when I first played it around a friends house on his 386 or whatever his system was at the time. Even the music rocked. My fav moment though was probably when I first tried out the chainsaw on a pink demon. :D

Half Life 2: I loved HL1, but Ravenholme (all of it) and the boat sections really amazed me. I loved being chased by the heli, which blew up the tower and me speeding by under it!

WOW: I know, I know... it didn't impress me till the first time I flew over searing gorge... I was amazed at the size of the game. I really couldn't wait to be high enough level to see it. WHen I went through the dark portal I was so excitted at seeing the demos fight!

KOTOR: That point in the story... everyone knows what I mean who's played it.

There are lots of examples, but one dwarfs any other for me...

System Shock 2, i'm sure i dont need to elaborate ;)

So many moments, ones that spring to mind:

'Breathless' 3d fps on Amiga, amazing visuals for the time.
COD 4 - SP -nuke scene, and the end scene
BF2 -first time I played 64p map Strike at Kirkland, intense and so engrossing

World of Warcraft. Absolutely mind-bending the first time you play through it.

I totally agree with that moment in KOTOR too. Everyone who's played it knows exactly what we're talking about here. One of the most memorable moments in gaming ever. Unfortunately it ties heavily into the plot so it's very much the Voldemort of gaming, you can't ever speak about it ever :)

The first time I ever played CS:S

32 players per side and not even a slight amount of lag... LOVED it

I have to say Portal was a "...WOW" moment for me as well

I couldn't even begin to list them all. There was a thread about six months ago which listed some awesome moments for me - but I've been playing video games for well over twenty years now, so I've got a few saved up in my head!

The main one for me was the noon tide bride in The Witcher.
Absolutely knocked me for six. The best gaming moment I can remember.
I just hope the Witcher 2 is as good.

The day i completed broken sword one for the first time was a golden moment :) Had it for so many years before i finally saw how that one got wrapped up (sort of like finding a book and actually reading it)

The first time i played goldeneye on my cousins n64 was probably the biggest day ever too, i had a whole year of trying to save up for one as the 3d it created was just unreal to me, then christmas came and i got one :D

GTA4 on my ps3 when i caved and got one was also a bit of an my goodness moment as id never sat down with a HD game before.

Leaving Lave space station for the first time in ELITE on the Beeb B sometime late in 1984. I lost so much of my life in that game, i'd play for days on end.
On the PC, playing Tomb Raider using 3DFX for the first time. Playing Unreal for the first time was an experience as well, it was stunning.
