Costco...

Yeah but the high street is never the cheapest in the 1st place is it, they do do some decent bargains, but its not like everything is at wholesale prices, generally unless its a special offer, most items are no cheaper.

Great place tho, love the cakes and pastries:p

Where Nick? Did you get a voucher or something?

I've not had one, but they don't always send them to all customers at the same time.

Got one through the post today included in the voucher pack. I'd imagine they would honour it without the voucher - I don't think I've ever had to take one along (as the offer would be linked to your card anyway).

When I got a quote from Costco a few months ago for 4 PS3 tyres they were the cheapest by far, even when compared to internet prices.

I've always found Costco cheap for PS2's. It depends what size you're after though. For example, they don't always have 19" tyres in stock but will get a batch at various points in the year. Word goes around and then they're gone in 24hrs LoL!

They can order them in for you if you ask, for me in 225/45/17 PS3's they wanted £112.xx fitted per corner, couldn't even get the tyre online for that price.

You can get guest passes iirc and i meant blag a membership.

You can't buy anything with a guest pass. IT just allows you to walk round the store. Also, how are you meant to blag a membership? Can't see this happening.

Easiest scenario: Pay the membership fee, buy the tyres, the week later go and refund your membership (they cannot refuse this) however you would lose all waranties (from costco, not the manufacturer) as you are no longer a member.

I had a great set of Continental tires on my car when I bought it. One winter the temp dropped really low and I didn't add air to the tires. I got a flat from having deflated tires so I had to buy a brand new frontside set (left and right).

I found Discount Tire to have the lowest prices and the fantastic bonus you get is that every 6,000 miles I can take my car there and get a free tire rotation and pressure check for life.

This works out perfect for the harsh winters, I can get the air pressure corrected and a free rotation.

Are you serious?

Surely you should just check your tyre pressures yourself, it isnt exactly difficult!

They tend to be quite cheap, but don't use the fitting service if you have nice alloys. They ruined 4 alloys on my dads ford as they broke through the top coating (plastic or something-horrible ford wheels!) and the wheels corroded horribly around where they broke the coating. This was to remove centre caps. So yeah, just a caution that they can be fairly heavy handed sometimes, this was the Thurrock branch.

Oh the infamous Fox.

Sorry what's wrong with what I said? Free lifetime service of your tire pressure and... come on... think... there were two things that you get.

That's right it's tire rotation. Well done, have a cookie and settle down.

All the patronising posts in the world wont change the fact that you had to buy 2 new tyres because you never bothered to check your pressures and ruined them, and now consider having somebody else to do it for you some sort of amazing bonus.

Not entirely convinced the rotation thing is as good idea either - 'Ooh, I've worn my fronts, lets put them on the back'

So this guy would rather drive somewhere to check his pressures rather than do it on his driveway, something does not compute:p

I thought I told you to settle down Fox.

Looks like your loyal band of followers also have limited mental capacity. Let me lay it out nice and tidy for you guys (so you don't miss the main point and focus on the tiny one again).

Fox has expressed issues with:
a) a company providing a free tire rotation for life
b) a company also checking your tire pressure for you since they are rotating the tires
c) my error with getting a flat tire due to low pressure
d) the notion of rotating ones tires

So in keeping with this lay out (just so that you don't get confused), I'll retort to one item.

The flat tire was due to:
(a) the temperature dropping from 90oF (when I bought the car) to -15oF
(b) checking the pressure only two months previous and being happy that it was correct
(c) being three months into the first car I had ever bought
(d) the temperature never dropping that low in UK so it was an unfamiliar hazard
(e) leaving the car parked outdoors at the airport for two days with 2 inches of snow on the ground and car

I'm pretty sure most people wouldn't consider that a dumb error but Fox is so awesome she (that's right I said she) could migrate to Alaska and know every inane detail about how to live there. Even inane tiny details equivalent to the frequency at which you check tire pressure for your first ever car.

I think this troll has been fed enough.

I think you are getting your knickers in a twist for no reason and judging by your other posts in other threads it almost seems you are seeking an argument with a particular poster?

You killed a tyre through negligence and rotation is some cases is useless and checking tyre pressures yourself is hardly difficult, so I don't know what your issue is?

Way to over complicate things! My point was that always going to one supplier because they offer free services of limited benefit is perhaps a bit silly - mostly as you should be checking your pressures more than once in two months! As for rotation its not necessarily a good practice either given safety concerns with putting worn tyres on the rear of the car.
