The EA week on Steam

Just to mirror whats been said already:

Bad Company is well worth the price. I've already racked up 52 hours and i've had the game just over a month (and yes, i do work!) If it werent for the ranking system, the game wouldnt have the longevity it has had so far, and will continue to have for at least another year, if not longer.

I loved BF2 and played it for years, but i'd be more than happy if BF3 followed along the lines of this game, more so than BF2. It's unpredictable and such a good laugh when CQC is involved. The game runs incredible well on older hardware and isnt a beast of a game to run compared to most modern games.

Every once in a while a game pops along (usually under the radar) and takes me by surprise. The last game than did this was COD4MW, and prior to that, Battlefield 2, and now this.

So bought it, played it. Thought it was ok and I was getting hammered on multiplayer though!

Need to upgrade my PC. My 8800GT is struggling a tad :p

google "Bad Company 2 - Gossamer's Config Launcher v3.00" and download this and set render ahead limit to 0, and directx v9. Should improve frame rates considerably. :)

Just bought BC2, I've been playing COD4 up til now, how do they compare? do you really have to get in to the whole team aspect or can you just go rambo? Not really used to that in games and I don't want to go all uber nerd with headsets etc;)

Felt the same, but couldn't resist. My main justification to self was waiting around too long would mean less player base with MOH a few months away.

I'm very tempted still lol. Thing is if i buy i won't be able to play properly until September.. hmmmmmm..

I'd like to know that also, because i'm much more preferenced to team games, eg. L4D1+2, Killing Floor which together i've clocked ~300 hours, but i've played maybe 10-15? hours on CoDMW and i've had it since release.

What's your CPU? I would have thought it would run okay on that card.

Apparently the game favours quad cores, I saw a benchmark where a Q6600 @ 2.4 was quicker than an E6600 @ 3.6.

i always join a squad so i get more spawn points but i dont stay with them

I've gone for BC2, hopefully it'll bring back fond memories of BF2 (after serious patching) and the like.

I've decided to get BC2 as well - I prefer the Steam convenience and it might not be this cheap again until Christmas or beyond.
