Portal 2 has been announced but..

everything valve do is basicly halflife with different textures and models.

they need to show they can do something new before they get more tired looking than they already are.

Just because the same engine is used does not mean Portal/TF2 play anything like half-life.

but this is more about what he mentions about steam. Dont you see that if steam moves onto consoles.. it could be a big setback for pc

Uh... They look similar because they're the same engine, but they all play completely different.

Gears and Unreal have almost identical models for a lot of characters, but they're completely different games.

Christ, one thread full of overly dramatic predictions is already enough.

Valve already develop for 360, this means nothing to us PC gamers. NOTHING.

Seriously, Valve open their arms to millions of new gamers and the internet throws a fit

They developed Orange box for the consoles this doesn't mean they will slack on the pc version, this is Valve we're talking about. Not Activison ;)

I don't think we would have EP3/HL3 any sooner if Valve weren't doing console development as well, everyone knows Valve are slooooooooow, I don't think its made much of a difference in the long run. If anything, more money for Valve, potentially better games (I know thats not exactly how it works but you know what I mean, more budget leaves more room to take risks).

They're prolly just trying to put Microsoft under more pressure.

Pressure to what exactly? It is a simple money making exercise. Much like PC gaming valve are trying to monopolise the download market on console by being the first (which has both good and bad points to it)

They are also developing it for the playstation 3, he also mentioned how Steam will play a big part in this... Could this mean that steam is heading to the consoles now too :(

We all know what this means if true.

It means that there will be no PC exclusives from them, we will just get 1.1 versions of console games as offered by all other companies

Definatley. But really, it's already happened

SHED load more money in consoles than PCs, this is just good business

Exactly

there will either be:

A: no new Half-Life game
B: a Multi-Format Half-life game
