Even though I dislike Gamespot they've got a poll of the people's most anticipated games. Great to see PC exclusive games topping the list.

Not so great that it's the Witcher 2 at the top though :p

Far more interested in SC2 and DX3 myself :D and those are quite a way down there..

meh pc gaming is still a shadow of its former self anyone who didnt play pc games in the late 90s early 2000's missed out on the golden years.

its just fps and racing games these days :|

i dont understand why stratergy , rpg etc died they were what made the pc almost at one point

I agree but in some sence would broaden it to games in general have died. I cant remeber the last time I truely coudnt put a game down or was desperately waiting for one or the last time on christmas I got a game I knew was going to be amazing etc. Im not sure if its because im 19 and just more mature of if its because games are just nothing compared to what they used to be.

I mean, graphicaly they are incredible. But game play wise, not so much. They lack something. I can play golden eye now sure it wont be as entertaining but its still playerble. Why cant I say the same for other games? More to the point when golden eye came out it was the game to play and you woukdn;t find a gamer that says otherwise. Why is there no games like that now? Sure the game is technicaly rubbish compared to games now and in truth I can only play it now through nostalgia but im sure you can see what im getting at.

So tell me, have I matured or are games just nothing that they used to be? I cant remeber the last game that chalanged me. I can't remeber the last FPS which I found remotely difficult or the last RTS that was gripping enough for me to hold on to the learning curve or had one to start with that actually even made it difficult to begin with.

Empire earth I played for 2 years and became one of the top 10 players at indy sh rules, which were prodominantly the most popular. I can't get into any other RTS like I did to that since. I played coh and it was fun and I really thought i'd found something but it felt a little too elitest. I'd played a lot of single player vs ai and won and was trying to train a friend and as a result I had 70-5 score which was almost entirely against bots or a bad oponent and no one would play me. I thought it outragous that ai battles even counted towards my total. As a result I had to smurf and even then it was hard to get games. The game was also too focused on team play, which I found the majority of players are no good at and only good at at high end clan level, which seemed a way off.

FPS has been killed for me by cod. I mean seriously mw is a joke. Spray at a target till it dies. Wow im feeling the skill. The only reason it sells is because the large proportional of players are unskilled, regardless what they think they, they are baising their skill on a game which requires none and then they dont want to move onto other games. That game has been designed to level the playing field as much as possible and even worse when you do stack the teams orwhen anyone gets just a random good streak, which doesn't require a lot of skill, they get rewarded to the point which dominates the other team with stupid kill streaks. PLEASE, go back to cod2 that is full of skilled players. Those that were not good at it soon left bnecause they couldn't compete against those who could aim.

Games are being killed by the lack of skill ranking. There should always be noobs, beginners, amatures, good players, highly experianced, pros and at the top the elite players. Very few games cater to this now and its a real problem for gamers like me at least.

I suspect ill get flame for this post but I dont really care, its my view that games have taken skill out of the equation to sell more because the majorty of people are not so skilled. Its a fact of life. The majority are always the less well off. Comes in intelegence, money etc etc.

The only real PC exclusives there are SW-TOR and Starcraft 2.

The Witcher 2 hasn't officially been announced to be available to consoles but it's planned to go that way at some point according to an unofficial FAQ on cd projekt forums.

sc2 is not only for the pc but also for the mac :( , at one point there was rumours about a console version but i cannot find it now

People are still hoping for big things from the PC version of Crysis 2. I hope it works out that way.

Fact of the matter is the top two most nominated games are PC titles, PC gaming is very very far from being anywhere near dead like the scaremongerers will want you to believe

...or it could just be that most console gamers don't have internet access on the same screen as their platform.

That's my opinion as well. It's easy for PC gamers to vote but not so easy for the consolers. Although, doesn't the PS3 have a web browser and it only has three games, all at the bottom as well.
