Crysis 2 E3 Videos *Just watch them*

I'm still counting on the PC version looking pretty much the same as the console versions but with higher reolution and needing an expensive graphics card. This game is all about the consoles, anyone can see that. It looks like they have done a very good job, considering the hardware.

Its to early to be able to say that, there hasnt been any PC footage yet apart from an uber short clip of a a face in the tech demo
 
At least this time round we are seeing some actual gameplay footage unlike the original Crysis, where it was suspicious pre-rendered nukes going off and dx9 vs dx10 teaser nonsense.
 
I'm not a fan of the environment. The jungle was a great way to show off, this game just looks like MW2. Perhaps it will look better on the PC, but I'm not counting on it.
 
hopefully, by having less trees to render, it'l have better performance, and therefore better visuals and lighting etc.. although im probs stating the obvious there.. remember however how many hacks of the old engine there was, and how good some of them looked, dont lose hope :P

Completed both Crysis and Crysis warhead on my old rig, huge fan.

Nobody knows what it will look like on PC yet as no footage has been shown but I have absolutely no doubt that it will look superior to the console version. The original Crysis looked far better than what i've seen of Crysis 2 on the consoles and thats 3 years old.
 
I don't really like the look of this game. Crysis + Warhead were decent enough imo, but the single best thing about them was the HUGE outdoor environments and the different play styles that encouraged. This looks like it's going to be extremely linear and closed off, with lots of scripted events. Also it looks like we'll be fighting nothing but aliens this time around (if North Korea have invaded NY as well i will laugh uncontrollably) and that was by far the weakest part of the first game. I just don't like the way Crytek design aliens, they look like toys, not creepy menacing space ********.

I'm guessing they changed the style to help things run on the consoles. Crysis eats RAM like it's nothing even on low details, so i guess it makes sense to box each area into smaller chunks in a city environment.
 
^^ Exactly, they even admitted it somewhere and said the outdoor enviroments just wouldnt run on the console due to hardware limitations

Its a console game, built for consoles from the ground up, i'll buy it and play it on PC but I dont expect it to be anywhere near as good as the first and its not higth on my list of most anticipated
 
I think it looked pretty good really, my only complaint would be the textures which seemed a little low on detail. Although that could be due to it being an early version or the fact that its a poor video. The effects looked very good and I am looking forward to the city enviroment getting recked by the larger aliens, kind of like BC2 with aliens.
 
Looks like absolute rubbish compared to Crysis and Warhead. Everything about it screams generic.

With Crysis I had the option of how I wanted to play. This seems to encourage run and gun, even with the stealth engaged. Also, why have they done away with the actual weapon names and tried to make them sound "cool"?

It also looks to have completely abandoned the story from the end of Crysis. I was really looking forward to getting my LOST on and going back to the island. I enjoyed the fact Crysis was set somewhere completely different to most shooters, now it just looks like another (poor) Modern Warfare clone. If anything, it reminds me of Fear 2 and that was average, only carried through by its story imo.
