The Budget

For me, with no mortgage and my income and expenditure, less than 2% of funds are spent on 'essentials' as defined by the government.

Putting you in the tiny minority of people in that similar situation.

The rest of us will shed a tear for your joint 'loss' and move on with our lives.

Ooooh shut up Ms Harman, as much I'm pro Labour I can't stand the woman.

Attacking the VAT rise, I'm sure Labour would've increased it, had they had a chance...

I'm just supprised she didn't do what she usualy does and say that this wouldn't have happened if women had been running the country.

I know this may be hard for you to grasp (considering your poor economic and maths skills), but your alleged situation is hardly typical of most people in the country.

So, bearing in mind all the people in this country -- children -- pensioners -- the fact that only about 1 in 3 people works in the uk AT ALL, and by far MOST people do not have any mortgage or rent payments to make or get them paid from elsewhere (kids, pensioners, housing benefit claiments, people who have paid off their properties especially) - do you want to revise your statement - er - kinda completely!! MOST people spend the VAST majority of their income on good subject to VAT. Sorry, it's just the real world mate!

Again sorry, don't mean to get to you! But you're the one setting yourself up here not me ..

Labour should have done this months ago but all they cared about was the election. No one should ever listen to them again, they are a bunch of discredited hasbeens who only care about themselves. Disgusting hypocrites.

Corporation tax down to 24% but VAT up to 20%? Do not like. I'm no leftie but it smacks of taking away from the consumer and giving to the corporations.

We require private investment into this country, and lowering corporation tax will inevitably bring in greater investment and new businesses into our country which in turn will provide jobs and ultimately give a greater monetary gain for the government.
Many areas in this country, the public sector is the main 'industry'. This is especially true in my city, Glasgow. There is no way that this scenario can continue indefinitely as it is daft economic practice to spend more money than it brings in.
The budget helps out Northern England a lot and they've been crying out for help.

Sod all for Scotland, but that's what you get with the stupid devolved government and the SNP.

We don't need it, but we'll claim it when our son is born. It'll offset the ridiculous amount of tax we pay on every aspect of our lives, so that those on benefits can continue doing **** all

So you claim benefits that you don't need, and somehow justify it.

Funny, the long-term 'can't be bothered to get a job' do EXACTLY the same thing.

Can you spell 'irony'?

I would have accepted a 1p in the £ tax increase as long as they sorted the spongers out

they have to reduce corporation tax to try and bring business back from overseas or keep existing business here

we need the corporations for the employment they create and the taxes they pay

I think we'll hear a lot more about measures for sorting out welfare scroungers, from the minister responsible for that department in the near future.

Pretty much summed it up at the end; 'The rich pay the most, the vunerable protected.'

Sounds fair to me.

How is that fair? It's ******* retarded is what is is. Why should the rich pay more? I don't give a toss about the vulnerable, they aren't my problem, especially as 'vulnerable' seems to include all the benefit brigade.
