My Dad Died Yesterday

Sorry to hear that mate. It just goes to show you cannot take anything for granted in this life - carpe diem.

So deeply sorry to hear that OP :(

You have my thoughts, I lost my uncle to cancer a few months back so horrible :(

May your dad Rest in Peace.

Sorry for your loss mate :( my condolences to you & your family!

My mum lost her boyfriend of 6 years in 2007 due to Pancreatic Cancer. He was a heavy smoker and drinker and he first got diagnosed in late 2006, I remember it as that was when I first met my GF. He responded well to treatment. He had good days and bad days and suffered badly with the headaches but then in May 2007 he was getting progressively worse, needing round the clock care from my mum. Then in August 2007 he passed away peacefully with my mum and his mother by his side :(. It does make you think how quick cancer does progress.

Very sorry to hear the news.

Thanks for spending the time to tell your story. He obviously meant a lot to you and you have my sympathies to you and your family. Best wishes for the future.

I feel very lucky that I have yet to lose anyone that close to me.
I'm always terrified when I read these stories - how quickly a person can go from 'healthy' to hospitalised and in need of constant treatment. :(

This has made me take a deep breath. So sorry for your loss. My Dad passed away over eighteen months ago now. I will say that it does get easier with time, hard to put into words really but it will in due course for you. My Dad was the same age as your Father and having read your post I'd say there were some similarities, mine also had lung cancer which spread to the brain. I remember when he was in hospital and was on steroids he did perk up better than we expected but it was only a short term solution, since they can be toxic.

As someone else said, be strong for your family and I sincerely wish you all the best for now and beyond. I do know how you feel.
