*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

I've noticed after a bit of - away from the computer use - that I tend to hold the phone securely in my left hand when I'm casually using apps or the internet etc.

Therefore, my left hand covers the gap between the attenna and it is blocking the signals...

This is the worse problem than I first thought! Looking very forward to seeing what Apple have to say on a solution...

Everyone who accepted the new terms and conditions of the latest iTunes update has opted-in to the data gathering. That's the point.

You need to tell them specifically, if you don't want to be sending them data.

I'll post the link again: http://oo.apple.com - Must be done from a device running iOS4. This includes iPads, iPod Touchs and iPhones of all models identifiers.

Ahhh I see, so you mean if I visit that site on my phone, I will opt-out?

I thought you mean't they forced you to visit that site to opt-in :p :)

Can the networks make a big difference in the MHZ of the signal, id be interested to see, tho taht can replicate the problem out up what network they are on.

Yes, visiting the site will opt you "out" of the nasty gathering. You can try the link on a PC if you want to verify that it's a genuine Apple address.. it'll just say your PC isn't running iOS4 :p

I didn't find this info, but I couldn't see anyone mention it on here, so it's worth mentioning.

Not put on charge yet and so far it's been on and in constant use with app downloading, browsing and general fiddling for 3hrs 20mins and down to 64% power. Never had an iPhone before so don't know if thats good..

Great thanks! Much appreciated :)

Just thought i'd post my tale, Bullring in Birmingham, 3 hours waiting chatting to friendly folks in line, free kirspy kreme's paid for by Apple :) won't do it again thou, i'm ordering online next time.

TnT are still to deliver mine. . .

Living in the country side has some highly annoying down sides!

What are TnT's delivering hours?
Its been out for delivery since 8am ....

They make their last rounds about 6pm, but I've had ones turn up later.

(Also live in the sticks). Get the local depot number from Yell and ask them if you can collect, I believe you can do that until 8pm.

What can they do really? They aren't going to recall millions of units. Maybe send out complimentary bumpers?
Or do you think they will just tell us to live with it and they release this 'software patch' that will make us think we dont have the issue.

Well, they offered to replace iMacs for people who were having screen issues.

It's not a far-fetched idea that they'd sort out the antenna issue and offer straight swaps for anyone affected.

Well obviously there will be some sort of solution - it's really not a phone if you can't use it properly :p - I'd rather go back to my 3GS if they told everyone there isn't much they can do about it...

There is a reason why metal antennae haven't been used before. :p

Apple were so "anal" about keeping the thing under wraps that they never tested it without the mock 3G case.

Maybe they will offer to coat the antenna with a spray on rubber substance that will remove the conductivity side of things?
Silly thought but u never no lol
