ive tried every brand tablet ive seen but however non drowsy they are supposed to be i always fall into the category of ''may still cause drowsiness in some'' . literally take one then fall asleep a few hours later

anyway my solution to this is taking them before bed... they are supposed to last 24 hours anyway so i can spend the next day hayfever free

fexofenadine for me as well as a spray as I get it pretty bad, can only get it on prescription though.

I've heard eating lots of local honey can help reduce symptoms so am trying that as well.

30 PENCE for 30 days worth

I've gone through every big brand I can get my hands on - living on "England's Island of Flowers" sucks balls when you have hayfever.
A lot did work, for varying amount of time, and cost a comparative fortune. £6's worth of name brand would do me for less than 5 days

Then I tried the above.
Legit online chemist, all above board, just a non branded name.

I know absolutely swear by them.

1 pence for 8-10 hours relief. They kick in within 30 mins, for the price, stock up for a few years for the price of a week of the named brands

an immune system
I think you'll find the problem is an overactive immune system not lack of one ;)

I use cetirizine tablets for eyes/sneezing + beclometasone dipropionate (beconase is the main brand name) nasal spray to stop me sniffling.

Oh and go to a supermarket for their own brand cetirizine. You'll get 30 for £3 or sometimes 2x30 for £5. I'll have to look into tres' link really is dirt cheap on there.

Yeah, I've heard this before as a solution for drowsyness too!

I have a jar of some in my cupboard, but have you ever tried eating a tea spoon of raw honey in the morning? I can't hack it!

These look good too, and I guess for the price they're worth a try!

I get really bad hay fever every year at the same time, it starts just after the beginning of June and finishes just before July starts.

Nothing I take seems to make any real difference, I'm just happy as I know it will only be one month of hell! (Which is nearly over :) )

I'm an earlier sufferer too I think! Which is better I guess as I can enjoy the "peak" of summer :) Only problem is that it's always bad when I go to Download Festival :/

I've just been wacking a load of honey on my weetbix every morning :)

If you suffer from it bad then get down your doctors, it might take a few trips until you find out a drug thats works but its worth it not to suffer.
I get a whole summers worth of prescrition drugs for £7.

I find that by the time I finally find a drug that works (changes year on year) that the hayfever season is almost over. At the moment I am making to with Loradatine or whatever it is. Nasal sprays are very good though.

Yeah I'm an optimist, I always think its good that I can enjoy the main summer months, rather than - it's so unfair that I can't go anywhere without a snotty rag and want to tear my eyes out for most of June! :p

Forgot to mention that wearing sunglasses can help with your eyes too if you're out and about. Stops the wind from starting irritation, and good for when you're around summer BBQs... BBQs really gets my hayfever going.

Of course, it's better to think like this! If you try and get on with the day and try not to think about it too much it helps!

4 boots own non drowsy taken orally in the morning, the one a day ones. Nasal spray, whatevers the cheapest.
On the bad days crush one of the boots own pills up and snort in small lines (Breaks the blood brain barrier, works wonders) my boss did give me some strange looks when I was snorting them off the dash of the van one afternoon :D

Thats what I do but I'm not a doctor...

If your hay fever is pretty bad like myself. Then all the usual tablets over the counter are pretty much useless.

After many years ended up going to the Dr this year as i didn't want to continue suffering so ive ended up having some kind of low dose steroid spray that i use up my nose once a day along with Loratidine Tablets and also Asthma pumps as i get a tight chest with hay-fever.

Its certainly been a big improvement from just using the tablets (and ive tried them all including the acrivistine ones) Dr said if the stuff im on now didnt do the job i would have to have a steroid jab but they only want to use that as a last resort due to some unpleasant side affects

I think there's an injection you can have too that gives you about 3 months cover.

edit/ you've put that in your post :p

I've been getting hay fever for about 10 years now on and off (I’m not 25).

It’s only for about three weeks at the beginning of summer. I buy two weeks worth of 1 a day when they are on offer and that normally lasts me. It’s only when the trees a blossoming, the little bit of cotton wool in the air, that makes it start.

It’s been much worse this year though. I’ve been taking one sometimes two a day.

I’m going to stop now and see what happens.

My questions is do people wake up in the morning feeling like they’re been left on the radiator all night? With a dry mouth and dry skin? Also my tongue feels black and blue, has anyone else had this? Eating’s getting hard.

Also I work in a souless 16 storey fully ac climatised building with strip lighting and blinds over the sealed windows...mostly depressing, but for the month of June it is my hayfever safe haven!
