I have my own games room that I love to retire to when everyone is in bed but we have recently had a new addition to the family in the shape of a new born girl.So I have to turn my games room into a pink nursery.
So my 1920x1200 24inch monitor will have to be sold and my corei7 and GTX295 gaming PC will have to be relegated to the 37inch panasonic plasma.
Luckily I have a wireless mamba mouse and will have to pickup a decect wireless keyboard but my biggest worry is should I game at 720p or 1080i as my tv does not have 1080p?
i know 720p is nowhere near 1080p but I hope to maybe sacrifice the lost pixels for more AA and AF.
Thanks for the help and aplologies if the story bored anyone waiting to get to the question in point.

Lovely story, congratulations.

As for your TV mode, I would suggest using 720p - it is much better for fast moving images as the scan is progressive and not interlaced. This is why sports in the US are presented in 720p not 1080i - as they use the same bandwidth to transmit, but 720p is smoother for fast paced sports.

If you are planning to use the plasma for anything other than gaming/videos then you will be disappointed. As great as Panasonic plasmas are; the 37" will likely have a resolution of 1024x720. The pixels are rectangular and your desktop will look stretched. I would sell your gaming rig and buy a laptop and gaming console if space is limited.

Well most console games run at 720p and because your usally sat further away you dont notice the lack off aa and jaggies in games.

I tryed my pc on my 42 inch hd tv and it didnt seem to be able to handle it, so i droped it down to 720 and the games ran great and looked great. Just spend a bit of time setting up your color.

Racing games and console style games that use controllers as very good on tvs i have found. My fave games to play on tv was, dirt and grid, just cause 2, and crysis warhead, batman aa, resident evil 5, street fighter 4, devil may cry 4.
