aside from the obvious of opening windows and fans etc. anyone got any tips of keeping cool at night?

in the knowledge that heat rises. im pondering the idea of opening the loft hatch. worth it?

I find opening the loft hatch has helped a tiny bit. Try keeping you curtains drawn during the day so that the sun doesn't warm the room too much.

Keep internal doors open - seems to help get a breeze going through rather than having the windows open but the air just being stagnant.

+1 keep cooler during day to stay cool at night, draw curtains south facing keep windows open north facing, then flip when the sun goes down

I hate it when its this hot, and people wonder why I get aggitated. unless im by the sea, or by a swimming pool or in an air condtioned place, I hate I hate I hate

My loft is like an oven in the heat, there is little insulation on the actual roof and no ventilation so opening it heats my top floor up I find.

Try sleeping downstairs. It's usually significantly cooler than upstairs. 8-10C difference for me from middle downstairs room (very little direct heating from sunshine) to the front bedrooom where I usually sleep.

Fans, fans and more fans.

I have a standing fan in the living room, and smaller fan next to the bed. Bedroom one helps me sleep as well as keeping me cool. The droning sends me off like a baby.

Position any Fans you have so they bring in cool air from outside and expel hot air elsewhere, much like you would a PC. Just remember to reverse it duringvthe daytime or you'll be bring warm air in and not expelling it.

You could always sleep in the Garden, it's quite nice actually.
