I bought Tropico 3 and it is very good but the islands are tiny

Also a bit dissapointed that the city/island doesnt go to a slum or huge sky scrappers. They look the same all the time.

Simcity4 still catches my attention now and again, would really like something better/newer tho, have played it to death I think

The online/"MMO" aspect of it shut after a few months. The problem being it lacked a lot of content that was supposed to come a long for the sub people - so now it is just an empty shell of a game.

SC4 doesn't work at all well on Vista or Windows 7, so be warned on that.

SC4 works fine on Windows 7 64 for me (without expansion, didn't test that because I haven't got it).
