As title guys.
Film to be shown in 2 parts with the first in November.

Apparently there will be a 3D version as well. I don't know why they are bothering considering how near the end of the series we are.
 
The trailer looks extremely promising after the disappointment of Half Blood Prince. However, it's also quite easy to see the changes they've made based on that snippet. It appears Neville Longbottom's moment of glory at the end has been given to someone else. Presumably there's no Wedding either, which is a shame as it was a excellent "Calm before the storm" effect in the book.

Kind of agree mate.
As much I enjoy 3D when it's done well, you can't help get the feeling that 3D has/is become/ing a marketable commodity incorporated into a film to make it instantly more appealing. And of course I'm not naive enough to think of it as anything other.
However, with a franchise and fan base as big as the Potter films you have to ask, is it really necessary?

The changes to the story from the book version really annoy me, in all the previous movies :/

Well, you cant expect there not to be changes. It's impossible to directly transfer any book directly to film. They just dont flow in the same way. All films should be treated as an adaptation or cover version, rather than a transfer.

Some changes needn't be made though. One of the ones i highlighted i cant really imagine a reason for.

Then again, it just kinda highlights that everybody should read books. They're always better :)

It's also quite effective at combating piracy at the moment as well.

Unfortunately though I believe this film is going to be retrofitted with 3D much like "Clash of the Titans (2010)" as opposed to being natively filmed in 3D like Avatar.

3D films also bring in more revenue because of the surcharge so anything which makes more money is good in the eyes of the executives.

The sad thing is 3D is here to stay, especially since cinemas all around the world have spent hundreds of thousands of Dollars, Pounds, Euros and others on upgrading to the latest technology.

Not sure why you're bothered since you can go and see it in 2D anyway.

If that's true, I probably won't bother with 3D this time. Avatar blew my mind, but if the re-hash method gives significantly weaker 3D, then I'm not sure it's worth the premium. However, if it's been done in proper 3D, then I'll certainly be going back to Birmingham's awesome IMAX to see it in 3D!

It's not even been shot in 3D! They've finished filming!
 
So annoying when they completely change things from the books. Agree with people above though with Ginny, apparently she just got engaged in real life.

It's not that I'm bothered by it Rob, as I said in my original post, when done right 3D is really enjoyable (your experience of Avatar matches mine). My gripe I suppose is the use of 3D, especially when it's not native as Antar mentioned, as a promotional tool when in affect it's kind of value added tax.

Don't even get me started on the fact they've split this into two parts!

3D = 50% more revenue. 2 parts = a years worth of mini box sets and dvd sales before:
part 2, an additional 50% 3d revenue, mini box sets and dvd sales before:
collectors box sets, complete box sets, Bluray, 3D box ets

MAXIMUM PROFIT.
 
I personally think, had they had a better group of writters and a constant director for all the films they could have made these in to the kinda definitive childrens fantasy films. Period.

Such amazing books, with such depth and imagination cast aside. There are going to be some serious plot holes, you can already see them missing big things out. There are characters that are constant in the books but yet don't feature in the films whom then turn out to be important in the last book, so you'll be left confused as to why these characters are in the final film and of some importance, unless they've been cut which wouldn't surprise me.

Same goes for sub plots.
