Harry Potter and the Deatly Hallows trailer

Is harry potter such a puff in the books as he is in the films? I get so mad when he's supposed to be some powerful wizard and yet he doesn't seem to be able to do anything he seems to know 1 decent spell and when its against anyone of power its useless. If i was him id be walking around like a BOSS. Shirt unbuttoned , collar up. Hermione would be all over my wond.

I think you'll see an altogether different Harry in the last 2 films.

Wait, I've changed my mind. I just watched the trailer and it looks awful.

I'm ok with them rewriting parts of the book(s), but they've changed fundamental parts of the story. The fact I can tell just from watching the trailer makes me dread whether I'd even recognise it as the Deathly Hallows were it not for the title. :o

Apparently there will be a 3D version as well. I don't know why they are bothering considering how near the end of the series we are.

Harry Potter films have been available in 3D since at least Prisoner of Azkaban, this is just the first time that places other than IMAX cinemas have been able to show them.

3D = 50% more revenue. 2 parts = a years worth of mini box sets and dvd sales before:
part 2, an additional 50% 3d revenue, mini box sets and dvd sales before:
collectors box sets, complete box sets, Bluray, 3D box ets

MAXIMUM PROFIT.

2 parts because it's a long book and people won't watch a 6 hour movie :p

oh 1080p youtube version too

proper 3d (filmed with twin cameras a small distance apart) or the gimmicky cardboard cut-out style 3d? (certain things cut out after wards in editing and brought forward or back)

Actually iirc harry is always presented as slightly above average wizard but not particularly gifted or special in terms of magical ability.

edit: must use edit button >.<

I would assume that's it has always just been a gimmick to get them into IMAX theatres but my point was that it's not a completely new concept for Harry Potter films.

The films obviously mislead on this point, the books have a far better view.

He kinda explains that in one of the flims. He says that all the times he has been up against it he has almost always had help. It's not really able to be explained though without really upsetting Kawolski.

Harry is a powerful and talented Wizard.

He's also completely misrepresented quite often in the films. Read the books and you'll get a much better idea of the type of person Harry is.

I can't wait! I hate that they drag it out whatever for what reason.
For those who never read the books - I guess, the Half Blood Prince story makes more sence after watching (or reading) the last part of the story, so be patient, the movie wasn't bad.

i have a feeling the last 2 harry potter films will be rubbish. ever since david yates started directing the films just went downhill. he directs the films for people who havnt read the books which clearly isnt fair. as for the acting, ive never seen a film worse than it is in HP...

I agree that the acting is sometimes at best wooden, but there is ample good acting and actors/actresses in supporting roles.

I dislike how they've skipped out so much sub plots, that on the surface have little meaning but they allow better character development, and develop better relationships with the characters. There is too much missing from the latter films (especially as a fan of the books) that really lets them down.

Then you can't have seen many films tbh.

Go watch plan 9, or Manos hands of fate.

Ahhh manos, that film has so much epic it should be reshown in cinemas.

To portray his character Torgo as a satyr, John Reynolds wore what is described as a metallic rigging worn under his trousers, made out of wire coat hangers and foam by fellow actor Tom Neyman. Unfortunately, Reynolds unintentionally wore them backwards, meaning the effect conveyed by his work was to leave his character with oversized knees and difficulty in walking. Due to no one ever correcting Reynolds' mistake on-set, the device damaged Reynolds' kneecaps, causing permanent pain until his death; reportedly, Reynolds attempted to overcome the pain by self-medicating with drugs, visibly affecting his performance in the film.
