Mine has a pin you just pull out so you can manually operate it... that must be an extremely poorly designed gate.

A thief just needs to put a heavy object between the gate and the wall like a small cylinder block to stop the gate from closing, no matter how much force is pushing against the gate.

people would notice the motor straining non stop/burning out pretty quickly.

Are these gates insanely fast in closing or something? As all the Electric Gates I know (which are opening ones rather than sliding ones) take an absolute age to close!

I also thought these gates were very slow though? There was one on holiday for cars and it had a warning sign about becoming trapped and I even joked at the time about how would that be possible, it takes about 20 seconds to close!? That one looked pretty flimsy, the one in this article looks pretty heavy though.

Most of these deaths are from in proper use of the gate, or people being idiots and not supervising their children.

Avast blocked a virus or malware from page one. Looks like something from a web hosting site public.blu.livbfilestore.com ending with /pkin_asim18.png

I'm guessing this is either nothing to be concerned about (false positive?) or there's something going on with somebody's signature file or hosting.

This happen to my bro in tescos back in the 80's, gotta be one of the funniest things to see some kid trapped in an automatic door crying, not in pain tho i might add, just fear.

This happened a few months ago to a little boy. He was squeezing between the gates and the wall that they were attached to, which apparently all the kids did, when he was trapped and killed.

Why is this still happening?
