*** Steam Summer Sale - Selection of games upto 85% off ***

I must say I was hope X3 would come up but I'm still not sure if I want to pay a tenner for it :p

I think I can wait a few months more

Am tempted to get GTA:SA, but I have hope that the Grand Theft Auto Classics pack will go down further.

Is that far too much wishful thinking on my part?

Some of these deals are absoloutley laughable. Thief deadly shadows, supposedly 85% off from 14 quid at 2.09, when it's on play for the price it should be anyway for a 6 year old game for 1.99.

Reading up, some of you have just bought thief when you could have bought it for probably the last 12 months at a cheaper price.

Welcome to the great Steam con, massively overprice games so you can stick a large percentage discount sign next to them and they end up being the same price as they should actually retail for.

Nothing there for me today. Maybe I can actually start to play some of the ones I've bought over the past few days. :)

Really? So it's a con that I can have all these games accessible through an easily managed and self updating window. It's a con that I don't need to store 120 odd boxes and their respective disks, and go searching for the specific disk when I want to play an old title? It's a con that Steam reminds me these games exist, and offer them to me at a decent discount?

Maybe I'm fickle, but if I get an urge to play a game, the fact the disk is in a box in the loft means it's very unlikely I'm going to bother.

Steam is ALL about ease of use, it does the boring bits for you - and for that I'm willing to pay the extra 10p ;) (Not that I did, I got bored of Thief quickly 6 years ago, heresy I know).

And people should learn what the word 'con' means. No one's forcing you into buying anything from Steam, ever.

Except for all the problems some of us have trying to run Thief on Vista or windows 7 with the retail CD. While like many old games the steam version works without messing about.
