id go for it , being that new there isnt much that can really be a problem with it if the stealers are any good , just go get it and enjoy it![]()
These words haunt me, needless to say nothing in that sentence turned out to be right. Its going back, with us getting a full refund and they are in moderate trouble.
Its to traumatic for me to go over again as its been a hard week dealing with it, but i'll bullet point the issues.
1. We were perhaps a tad naive, as the OP says we haven't bought a car in 12 years and we put far to much trust in an Authorised VAG dealer, basically lied to us, an example being, when asked what the multifunctional steering wheel was, replied "oh thats the paddles and the cruise control stalk". In addition there was never any mention of it being an imported car. The dealership manager has since confirmed that every one of his sales people were aware of the cars status and were under instructions to make it clear from the first contact.
2. What was sold to us as UK Spec TSI GT (I have the sales invoice and sales details listing the spec) actually (as pointed out to me by a 3rd party after I had picked it up and paid for it) was a ROI import TSI Sport with spec that was so far removed from what they said it was.
3. Trading Standards have advised me we have actually been a victim of a criminal offence that breaks the sales of goods act 1977 as amended as we have been "knowingly" sold a vehicle that is of a far lesser spec than that is listed on the sales details.
4. The car is un drivable at this point in time due to suffering electrical failure on monday night (we picked it up on Saturday)
Now you can call me an idiot for not going and at least looking at a new TSI GT as a comparable but nothing you can say to me will make me feel any worse than I do with a 20K lemon in the garage.
