Ebay screwed :( Ruined my month!

Thats generally how buying tickets (from unoffical sources) for any festival goes as they arrive near to the date.

From official sources too. I bought 2 tickets for Leeds this year right after last years, you get charged immediately - before you get ticket conf. And I wont get my tickets until 2-3 weeks before the event this year.

If he bought them, he had the money, and he's had the tickets. He's blagging you because he knows he can get a couple hundred more for them now from someone else with no risk other than annoying you for a short while.

This is what i think.

Alternately:

1) buy one of these from eBay
2) Visit sellers address
3) Attatch to his vehicle and ask for payment :)
4) Repeat 3 as necessary until £1055 is given back to you :D

This is of course "tongue in cheek" - Paypal is your best bet. They should refund you - yes, it will take a month or so, but if you push him directly via court, he could offer £5 a month repayment

have you actually spoke to them though ? not just read what they say on the site

even if they cant help that much then im sure they would like to know what a dodgy character this guy is

hes basically just took a grand off you for free. and even if he pays you back then hes took a free loan from you

id go straight into a small claims court procedure then him paying you back will become official and he will have to pay the costs which may teach him a lesson. simply saying ''i aint got it'' just isnt good enough. hes a conman

i will ring them now

Ouch that would suck. I don't see why he doesn't have the tickets? For festivals if you buy them on line don't they send you them till last minute or something?

And he should have noticed his card was declined -.-

And he can only pay back in monthly payments? Wth...

Hope you get every last penny back!

Ring eBay as well.

Also, go to the police. Its theft.
Ebay and paypal are the same damn company though so can't see the point in that.

just rang paypal. they cant help

did you tell them your bank will be recovering the money from them ? its them who may lose out the most hence why i thought they should be interested

i know they are useless though

id consider getting the police involved next for that sort of money

Im waiting for what my bank will say on the 8th July. If they wont recover it for me then the police is the next step

Have you informed the seller of the steps you are taking? maybe the robbing ******* will try a bit harder to get the cash together and avoid the hastle. Either way I really hope you get your cash back.

Yes hes been updated all the time. He claims he has spoken to his bank and his bank has advised him my bank will claim the money back from paypal.

He sells tickets from ebay for a living. If my bank cliam money from paypal they will surely credit his acouunt for £1055 and then hopefully mess up his livelyhood for a few days

Don't you think the Cops have more important things to be dealing with ?

Seriously. Think about what you have stated......

1.) He has 100% feedback with thousands of happy customers.
2.) He said he had the tickets - yet his card was declined when he bought them.
3.) You have paid over a grand for something that was promised.
4.) He now doesn't have the money - or for some reason doesn't want to pay you back in full.

Firstly - if you have his number - call him - and see WTF he is at.
Secondly - if you don;t have he number, contact his past customers - and get it if you can.
Lastly - if you can't get his number - contact his past customers - and get his address. At most it will cost £30 to get to his house and get your grand back.

This isn't about some £20 transaction. This is over £1000 of your hard earned money, and the more people on Ebay that lie down and let themselves get rear-ended - the more dodgy dealers will sell non-existant things on there to make an easy buck to the increasing number of suckers that fall for it.
