What sort of clocks are you running on your GTX 260?

Core-470mhz (lowest it will go)
Shader-1400mhz (as far as it can go without error)
Mem-825mhz (lowest it will go)

Something is off here then, I'm running 650 core / 1450 shaders / 1050 memory with 75% fan speed and getting longer times :confused:

Just out of curiosity, were they rebranded CPU units? and any ideas what your GPU load is showing?

Just kicked my GPU from using 0.04 CPU to 0.22 and that took 15 seconds off but GPU load still isn't going over 65%

They might have been rebranded
My GPU is showing 98% load with current WU that's not normal. Normal is 60-70%

Next GPU ones I get will be GPU and not rebranded so I'll have a look GPU is currently doing a very long WU 1hr30 and only 52% done so gonna be a hour or so

That sounds like a VLAR, I've yet to see a GPU unit run for over 30 mins and that was with a 9800GX2

had a whole load of similar wus a weeks or so ago, approx 1hr 30 each. started to think somit woz up.

im running my gtx 260 @
673/1534/1193, (bios flash) & evga precision. custom fan settings. currently on auto set to ramp up earlier.

My GTX is sitting at a nice 58°C with a 50% fan

Best thing is I haven't had any problems with my rig and the heat which as we all know can get silly in my case because I am lazy

Things are a bit in turmoil at the moment in seti land as there are a lot of changes going through and it looks like they will take a while to bed down. Apparently they are going to open the floodgates on mon to allow some more workunits out, so set your cache to 5 days or so and hopefully you will be alright. Rescheduling units between your cpu and gpu can help as well..
Don't give up as things will get better eventually, and stomping is such fun!

Morning Toxic - Im a bit worried about Mon - we have consultants in all day Mon, so the chances of me sitting there and babysitting my rig until the cache is full are low, so I might miss out on the wu's for the outage

I have to say you've done well to hold me off, I wasn't expecting you output to increase in the way it did - I was catching you pretty fast. I think I have found the issue though, so expect to see me coming back at you....

Morning sah, hmmm thats going to be a toughy. Improvise, is there no one at work you trust or know that will do a little babysitting for a small renumeration? Urgent staff problems, system instability requiring immaediate attention the possibilities are endless

Edge is right there 470 is probably your best bit especially if you plan on more than one....i'll be watching you....Good to see you in the 50's M

It'll take probably 2 weeks of clean running to catch you again, and if you're looking all starry eyed at one (or more) of those new fangled fermi thingamy bobz, I'm TOAST!!!! :eek:

What an interesting discussion! We have out-of-town guests in for the holiday weekend
so I don't have time, yet, to read the entire thread. But I will.

As I scan these posts, it seems clear that we should have separate CPU and GPU limits.
Next week, we will likely put in separate limits. Are there any objections to this?

As promised, I will remove the limit tomorrow, the last day before heading into the outage.
Please be kind to one another. As to guidelines for client side queues (ie work requests
given to the server), I'm afraid I don't have any other than 3 (ok, 4) days as has been suggested.
Maybe some of the queuing wizards in this forum have more sophisticated ideas.

It depends on what the new quota will be - I don't care what they make it as long as I have work, I have one rig just crunching gpu units and 4 cpu's on mw as they cant get work.
hope they get this sorted soon...
