Hey all, have had a friend ask to put a PC together for music development (Sibelius, Cubase etc) and gaming at a budget of £600.

Initial thoughts say 1055T, 4GB RAM and something like a GTS250/4850? Though I am open to suggestions.

No peripherals or OS are needed.

Thanks guys.

*stulid attacks* :p

Maybe add a nice cooler such as the Titan Fenrir to Stulid's build so your friend doesn't have to put up with the noisy AMD cooler and has the option of overclocking later if he feels so inclined?

Hehe :p. Yeah have added one to cut down noise, and maybe to push the CPU to ~3Ghz. Thanks :).

Brilliant stulid, thanks a lot. Never spotted that case and looks like very good quality for the price.

Have adapted it slightly with a higher wattage PSU for some upgrades down the line, 1TB hard drive and added a CPU cooler to cut down noise and maybe allow for a slight OC.

Do you know if the motherboard you specced will be able to support a Hex-core out of the box or may it require a BIOS flash?

according to the cpu support list, it has been supported since bios version 1015, which is an early one.

Cheers, am building for a mate but wont stop me having a play before I give it to him :D.

Will be posting a build log in the cases section providing the GF lets me borrow her DSLR hehe.
