Beer is a killer on calories. Especially hitting 15 pints. I have heard vodka, lime and soda water is the best shout but a bit girly. Any others?

Wine if you have to drink it. But clearly in moderation.

Spirits convert to glucose very easily owing to it's high alcoholic content. As does beer owing to it's wheat. Glucose is effectively a carb, and if your body doesn't use it, it'll store it and convert it to fat.

It is the worst, my dad barely eats anything but has like 15 sugars in a big coffee cup when he goes to work in the taxis and wonders why he's putting on weight... "It's the sugar dad, a killer."

Wine isn't the worst  Or are you saying sugar is the worst?

The problem with spirits is people add soft drinks to them as well.

A little alcohol is never going to be that bad for you, but they do contain a lot of "empty" calories. However, if you want to drop bodyfat, cut out the alcohol. It's not hard to do. :)

But if you want to drink whilst trying to lose bodyfat, wine is the best answer IMO. :)

Sorry I'm saying glucose/sugar is. :o

Quit drinking altogether rather than looking for a low calorie alternative - there really isn't one. When I quit drinking, I dropped 2 stone almost immediately without any change in my diet or lifestyle.

It's not just the calories but the effect it has on your metabolism and the general feeling of lethargy which it gives you which makes alcohol such a big contributor to weight gain. Plus, if you're drinking 15 pints of an evening, for god's sake think of your liver!

Spirits by themselves or with diet mixers/soda will have the least calories but wont stop you nomming a giant kebab on the way home while wasted.

Cutting down is the best way.

I'd suggest one of two things... if you REALLY want to lose weight then as said, just don't drink.

If you're like me and wouldn't mind dropping a few pounds but still want to enjoy a drink in the sun then is there anything else you can counter balance it with?
Remove sugra from your tea, skimmed milk, porridge in the mornings, some exercise that sort of thing :)

Try to offset when you go out for a beer is what I try, doesn't always work mind :)
