Spirits convert to glucose very easily owing to it's high alcoholic content. As does beer owing to it's wheat. Glucose is effectively a carb, and if your body doesn't use it, it'll store it and convert it to fat.

The problem with spirits is people add soft drinks to them as well.
A little alcohol is never going to be that bad for you, but they do contain a lot of "empty" calories. However, if you want to drop bodyfat, cut out the alcohol. It's not hard to do.
But if you want to drink whilst trying to lose bodyfat, wine is the best answer IMO.![]()
