What the hell are they negotiating? He needs he's going to jail, not much to lose...

Can't they just get a load of like rubber bullets or something and fire at him!! Take him down before he can fire..

Also he is a threat already..has been for the last few days..so shoot?

A less than lethal option is just that, it would give him chance to shoot.

Or it fails, and he retains the shotgun and uses it. The idea is to end it peacefully if possible, force will be used as a final option.

N,o video and record the telephone conversation. But get it set up so

A) you can clearly hear what they are saying
B) find out the situation and not show 10minutes of second hand "news"

I mean it would take 2 minutes to set up, Can I talk to your mum: yes, set to loud speaker or plug phone into some equipment, get back ground story of her, find out it's second hand news, get passed to the right guy, then go live.
