Not necessarily bang on the subject, but these films certainly do a good job of exploring similar and related themes, which should be of interest for you:
Pi, Requiem For A Dream, The Royal Tennenbaums, Darjeeling Ltd, Life Aquatic, Into the Wild, Garden State, The Machinist, American Psycho, Batman Begins, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Vanilla Sky, History of Violence.
Not watched it in a while but from what I remember Memento was pretty good, worth a watch..not sure if it quite what you're looking for though..more memory loss than psycho mental!
Edit: Looking at list above would also have to recommend Session 9! Some great scenes in that
Cathy Come Home deals with the mental stress of homelessness and the depression that ensues when the system fails to assist young single mothers in such situations.
It's very, very 60s though. Before the welfare state, really, but a lot of the problems still ring true to this day. I recommend it.
