Bee Rescue Time Again

Saved one at my folks in Wales a couple of weeks ago, however I didn't have any honey but turns out he liked Golden Syrup just as much :D

If your worried about picking it up on your finger, slide a bit of paper under it. When they need "rescued" they are quite dopey and won't really move. Just drop it down next to the syrupy/honey goodness and it'll do the rest.

I stroke Bumble bees :) They're my friends, Wasps are nasty, but hornets are cool too, Hornets are very misunderstood insects and it makes Mr.Nick very sad :(

Why do they need rescuing? I think I'm probably already doing my bit as there's a bumble nest under my house. They get in and out via a wee vent in the wall. Love watching them go off on missions then trying to re-dock with the hole in the vent when they return. Bees=awesome....until they sting me. Then it's flamethrower time.

This thread is :D

Hmmmmmm, didn't CKY tie a string to a bee after freezing it, then took it for a walk?

OK folks, it's that time of year again (Not for the feint hearted ;) ). Time to get your honey out and help to refuel our pollinating little friends

Only if you promise that all wasps and hornets will insta die if they come within 1 mile...

wasn't this on qi that it takes more honey to save the bee than it will make in it;s entire life time? :p

Oh and i saved a bee from a swimming pool when I was on holiday \o/

Bit of a stepdown from last years saving a dog from the sea though. :o

Why can't it ever be a sexy lady, rather than insects and pets:(

this whole summer i've only seen about seven or eight bees, and only a few bumblebees.

usually we get swarms of them harvesting from the enormous rose bush, but this year, almost nothing :(

lots of wasps though

Bee's utterly and completely rock. Used to play with them when I was a toddler, back then there were tons of them around...nowadays hardly any :(

Why Hornet's, they're nothing like Wasps, if you don't bother them, they won't bother you, and kill they off thousands of annoying bugs, yeah they can be big and scary for some on you pany's :p, but just leave them alone and you'll be fine. :)

Saw a Bee last month crawling around on the grass looking all pooped but didn't think much of it, thought he might just be wasted :). Ah well, now I know better thanks to the OcUK knowledge base.
