So who's got an XBOX "Slim" coming this week?

I've been debating getting a 360 for a while now, and it's looking likely that I'll grab a slim this weekend. Still partially tempted by getting an elite for a crazy price, but I think I'll spend a bit more for the newer more shiny tech.

Yeah may as well :D

I know a lot high street places have stopped taking pre-orders. Wonder if there's going to be a shortage or not? I only ordered mine on friday and wasnt expecting one for launch. Supply must be pretty good.

Personally I wouldn't be surprised if there was limited stock for a couple of weeks, not a big issue though, I can wait. Also depends who can do the best deal around launch time.
 
Should be getting one this friday when i take in my elite. Not sure to pick up a game too if there is a cheap bundle, not many 360 games out there i want at the moment.

Ask them if you can trade it straight against the final value. Thats what I did with my elite when I got it. Got around £50 trade in on the bundles games :eek:
 
I will be trading in my elite for a slim this friday, but first I
need to back up my user profile and game saves. Is it correct
that I can now use a 16GB usb key to back my profile and saves
and then import them onto the slim of this device?.
I am really worried about losing my profile and I have used
a transfer cable in the past when going from 20GB to elite
so could do that again although the usb key option seems
quicker and easier.

Yes, you'll be fine.. I've recently switched from an old hoover xbox to a new silent slim, using only a USB pen.
 
Probably nothing to get too concerned about, but my new slim has already locked twice, AND when it came back on, the fan was at full pelt.. Though it did wind itself back down to silent after 2-3 mins...

Even at full pelt its a LOT quieter than the old in idle.
