In that case, something like a pair of 480's would be pretty damn quick as said above :)

or the cheaper 460 route could be good too

Dude, why on earth do you want to spend more money when you already have a 5970?

I think thats a fair question, is it not?

Save your money, and wait for the next gen 6000 series from ATI, then ***** your £700!

Anyway..................................

My 59 is dead so atm iam useing a Quadro® FX so need something better.

Not sure about going to 470/780 dont want to spend £130 on a new PSU.
What i was thinking was just getting 2 58s or a 2 gig 59 and a 1 gig 58 ?

How long will it be till the new 6s come out, any ideas? I have seen Q4 2010 but ?

If you must get a card now and you want to get the *best again..... then maybe a GTX 480.

Bear in mind that at the moment, nothing is gona top your 5970... with out crossfireing or sliing two cards together.

Nobody knows when the new ati series will come out. Historically its in October-January, so Im expecting the same again.

If you want something to tide you over... then maybe a 5850? Cheap, cheerfull but capable graphics card, which doesnt brake the bank?

Well that's why I suggested what I did. Low power requirements, low noise, and plenty of graphical oomph!

Faster than a 5970!

I agree the 460 x2, save yourself the money, put it towards 6000 series in future if you need even more speed, or the PSU
 
Another vote for SLI GTX460's - best bang for buck atm, and you'll pocket £350 change.
 
well would never have thought 2 460 would do a 59. Would like to see some vantage scores before i went for them. But see knew it would be a good idea putting the Q out there.


I have had a look on HWbot and nothing listed for the 560 yet.
