Really enjoying this game right now. I know there are many problems with it and it has quite simple game mechanics but I just love it! I am getting a bit annoyed though as I have filled up every available storage space with good items that I think I will use but won't and I don't want to get rid of any!

Anyway it's a really great game, albeit a bit repetitive, and it's even better when you play co op with a friend.

What you think about it though? Do you find it unplayable because of the bugs? Or is it just not your cup of tea?

It annoyed me that it wasn't Diablo. Sounds harsh but it is just so inferior in some areas, skills are rubbish and the combat has no....grit and violence to it

Me and a few mates have played it god knows how much, we're huge RPG fans.

There's a program called TQVault That you'll probably find very useful, can export/import items from your storage to other characters and a database.

Only really worth keeping blue/pink items, some green items are worth keeping when playing through epic/legendary as they can be improved with relics.

I've just replayed Diablo 2 for the first time in a while and other than the random level construction I found D2 to be sadly lacking when compared to the more modern ARPGs.

Titan Quest - I find way more fun as you have far more variation in the PC characterisation. Not sure if it works with TQ steam version but try using the unofficial 1.17a patch as that fixes a lot.

As for the combat I don'r really find it that different to D2's except for lack for splashes of red pixels

i did not get in to it uninstalled it after 20 min for me diablo 2 was much better , maybe i have to give it another go

I was thinking it is similar to D2 but I much prefer it because of the better graphics, more flowing gameplay and although it is more linear I have noticed that there are variations in areas I have passed through with different caves. For instance there was a cave with Poseidon's head on a beach in one play through and it wasn't there in a different one.

What classes do you have? I only got the game recently but I have a ranger, elementalist and a thane. It's very satisfying when I run into a large bunch of enemies with my thane and dish out swift death with dual wielded fell blades :D

Love this game, even more so since leaving CS:S. According to xfire I've spent 55hours on it in the past 7 days. :)

Got the following atm:

Templar (55) - Up to Epic Ormenos (currently grinding for Epic/Legendary loots for other chars)
Brigand (42) - Up to Epic Megara (Legendary bow/spear combo :D)
Elementalist (37) - Up to Normal Ormenos (currently grinding for Epics)
Spellbinder (27) - Up to Babylon
Conqueror (17) - Up to Athens

Started the Spellbinder 2days ago, and the Conq yesterday.

Will be starting another magey type character at some point, got loads of mage gear stored that I've not touched yet. :)

(this is Immortal Throne btw (with the unofficial 1.17b patch) and I've not come across ANY bugs, only the odd "I'm not going to move where you're clicking, but if you click somewhere else THEN click where you want to go I'll move")

Completed this a couple of years ago, but just bought it again on the recent Steam sale. Thinking of installing but would like to add the unofficial patch. Anyone know if this works with the Steam version?

There's the 1.17 patch, which is the unofficial FanPatch, then they brought out the 1.17a for digital versions (Steam etc).

It will still show up (in-game) as being 1.17.

I couldn't get into it at all, I just found it very dull and much too repetitive. Although I was never a fan of Diablo or any of those types of RPGs so I was never expecting that much, just thought that I'd give it a go. I managed maybe 4-5 hours worth, so I tried!

Thanks tibbsey! 1.17a worked a treat. Now I just need to remember where I stashed my saves from my last playthrough... :D

It was great til a point. I was very near the end - coming to the jade palace or something, but I just couldn't bring myself to continue with it. Maybe one day will try again and finish, maybe play with another character, but got plenty else to play.

I know one problem I had was getting stupidly powerful weapons and items early on, and for the longest time I couldn't find better stuff, so item gathering got really boring.

I'm enjoying it now I have a mega powerful character! i have a lvl 25 brigand, when it crits it sends bad guys flying half way across the map so that's good for me! I've just got to babylon and died twice in the space of 2 minutes after (what seemed) like a mega ramp up of difficulty (or at least the damage dealt by the bad guys). I'd only died twice prior to that due to carelessness.

bugs? well I've started to notice i sometimes don't move despite clicking where i want it to go, or attack the flying birds properly. other than that, a full inventory, the same green and blue items dropping with slightly different stats, those summoning towers and the viewing difference when looking down diagonally when compared to up (it's much shorter) are the only annoyances. a good purchase for me :)

I agree about the blue weapons as I have about 3 fell blades, 2 of them exactly the same and one ever so slightly worse. I love them dual wielded though :D

I got this I think through the THQ pack on Steam ages ago but never played it, think I'll give it a go as I love Diablo games. Question though, I have TQ and TQ: Immortal Throne... do I need to install both, or just Immortal Throne? (I'm assuming it's some kind of game + extras, rather than just the standard game).

I have a fully kitted level 65 Champion (dual sapros ***) and a fully kitted 65 Oracle. I love the game to bits, especially the end game farming in the secret passage. I would have liked it if they had added some end game levelling so I could get to 75, but it's pointless. I have it installed at the moment with all the patches and mods, might give me something to do I think!

Check out www.titanquest.net for mods, tips and guides on building decent characters. Considering how old the game is and the fact that the studio went bust it's still a very busy forum simply because the game offers a lot of depth in terms of item stats and what they do, (what's best and what's not) that people just don't realise.
