Apple iPhone NOT recommended...

"One solution to the Apple iPhone 4's antenna
problem is to cover the lower left corner with tape."

I lol'd

yeah looking on a very well known iphone forum, they are suggesting that a iphone 4 recall is growing more likely by the day

I prefer holding the new one with the bumper on anyway, Whig is a major help as I'm a letfy!

Read this on engadget last night. Interesting that they actually did proper tests. :)

Apparently any mention of it is being removed from Apples forums...

They also have (or at least had) it listed as the best smartphone you can currently buy.

Soooo.... in short, they are effectively saying don't buy smartphones. :p

True true, maybe I'll wait a week or so for news of a recall before getting mine...

Seeing as the issue does seem to go away with something insulating contact with the antenna, I can see Apple dishing out free bumpers before recalling phones, it would be vastly cheaper and easier to achieve and would probably satisfy the majority of people.

Not a very good solution though.
It would be like Toyota issuing a free airbag because the brakes don't always work.

I like how apple have decided to over look this and put it down to a software issue and the signal strength being displayed incorrectly i.e. you have 4 bars being displayed but should only really have two, there releasing an update to resolve this but i cant see a recall on the iPhone 4 personally!

I don't know why they keep mentioning this as a problem for 'lefties'. I'm right-handed and always use my left hand/ear for calls. I'd think most people do because if you're right-handed you leave that hand free for writing/typing information being received down the line.

I'm not weird, am I? :D

Nahh... im a 'rightie' and i always use my left hand when on the phone :)

lol, i cannot believe this, if they actually pull this off with the "stick on patch" and they dont recall units I will LOL my ass off

But it would mean admitting there is a problem, a serious non fixable inherent problem with the phone. I don't think Apple will do that as it will damage their brand image too much.
