Would have been good to have 7 525 bays instead of 6 and lose the width of the connection panel at the top there's no need for it to take up that space which could have been used for 2x 120mm fans + 1 dvd drive.

I would also like to know whether the hdd cages are modular or it's one unit and or whether it can be part removed or all removed and not hard welded on.

If it was removable, it would pretty much be the best case going so for that reason alone its proberly not.

I do like the new Corsair 600Ts hdd modular system however its cooling I dont think will compare to the the haf X, that side 200m fan blowing on the gpu/system/cpu is just gonna make such a difference imo.

re:

Hi all, I was wondering if there was anyway to change the red led on the front 230mm fan for a blue led ???? is this possible?
Can you buy individual blue leds that would do the job?
cheers

Just uploaded a quick video onto Youtube.

Please be kind, its my first :D

So far:

PRO's:
Better cooling/airflow than my previous case (Cosmos S)
More room, good for future XL-ATX motherboards and USB 3.0.
The HDD/SSD are very easily changeable, compared to Cosmos S, when they were in a cage/box, which took some time to remove.
Much more space for cable management.
Quieter than Cosmos S.
Painted inside

NEUTRAL:
Some may not like the side fan, blocking the view, although its not as bad as I though it would be, and you get the extra cooling.
The GPU Duct (not installed) only fits some GPU's due to the 6 or 8 pin cables.

CONS:
There is no 5.25" to 3.5" adapter for a card reader (unlike the Cosmos S).
If you install a second 200mm fan on top-front, the USB 3.0 cables need to be re-routed in between the two fans on top (No biggie)

Thanks muzens. I realy like your setup.

A few questions I have not seen answered in the reviews :

1. Does the hotswap bay support SATA 3. For example, on the 800D if you plug the hot swaps into a SATA 3 port (say marvel controller on rampage 3), and then run something like a Crucial C300 SATA 3 SSD, you'r only going to get SATA 2 speeds. I'm wondering if it's the same story on the hotswap bay in the HAF-X and also if there is any active cooling in that bay. It looks like you could only run an SSD or 5400rpm HDD in it, if there is no airflow to that area.

2. Anyone put a 2nd 200mm fan on top and does it help cooling. On the ATCS 840 it had a negative effect on cooling as the fan sucked out cool air before it had a chance to do it's job. If it helps cooling, is it easy to attach. It looks like you have to pop the lid off and disconnect the cables from the case to get at it.

3. How robust is the window. Any rattling when the 200mm sidefan is going. Also, all perspex windows I've seen on cases show up micromarring/hairline scratches (visible under case fan light, cathodes etc... usually) after you wipe them down no matter how careful you are (use damp microfibre). It's usually caused by the dust scratching the surface. Anyone with a black nintendo wii or ps3 phat will know what I mean.

4. Are the fans all 3pin with 3pin to 4pin molex adaptors. I read one review where they said all the stock fans supported pwm mode which would suggest they are in fact 4pin fans (not molex).

Thanks

WOW, that is one ugly case.

It is strange how some can think the case looks great / Cool and others think it looks ugly

I guess that`s what known as person preference :)

Very nice muzens. I notice you have replaced the 120mm Noctua fan on the CPU with 140mm, has it made a big difference with the temps? And what are the noise levels like on your haf-x with 3 140mm Noctuas?

Thanks mate

1. Sorry I don't know. :(
2. I was just so eager, and put the extra fan on, and haven't noticed any repercussions. It was very easy to attach, I'm using anti-vibration rubber pins. I did however had to re-route the USB 3.0 cables as the fan is too close.
3. There is no rattling. it is solidly fixed. I haven't found any scratches yet.
4. All of the fans were 3-pin and all came with molex adapters.

Hope this helps a bit.

True :)

Thanks, I have noticed about 3 degrees difference. As for the noise, I am using all fans at stock speed, it is deffinately quiter than my previous case (Cosmos S), its is slightly louder with more of these fans, a hummmm...but not irritaingly loud. The loudest thing is the graphics card when its under load (games = cryis, metro 2033).

Is anyone using a fan controller on there HAF-X? Or are the fans quiet enough already running at stock speeds?

I have installed a fan controller, but don't use it, so might remove it as there really is no need for it, as the fans at stock are quiet enough.

Hope this helps ;)

re:

Just this moment installed the optional fan at the top and had no problems at all;)
Just dressed the panel leads around it.... effortless:)

One thing I was a little concerned about was how the fans would be attached as the side panel fan uses the self tapping screws and if that was the case on the top fan it may of been difficult locating them, fortunately the top fan just has hardrive size screws:)

Nice. Is it a megaflow red led fan ? These seem like a good choice.

Did you have to remove the top completely and disconnect the cables, in order to attach the fan ?

You do that. Personally I don't think the 1200 looks any worse of better then the HAF but the HAF has a lot more options and more room for larger gpu's and motherboards.

I have installed two MegaFlow 200mm Red fans on top. Just needed to remove the top panel, very easy to install.
