If your gonna up em upside down to stop dust getting inside you need a spindle or something (to leave an air gap) - otherwise they get musty inside and start to smell and you have to wash them a couple of times anyhow...

So we always put ours normal way up - they don't stay there long enough usually to get dusty inside anyhow and if they did they'd need washing anyhow (musty smell).

Top up, my cupboard has a door so the dust isn't a problem :/

Top down they usually get crap on the edges or musty/condesation, don't clean the shelf as much as I should though.

We clean our shelves pretty well and they always get musty/condensated if we leave em tops down - not sure if this varies from place to place (environment conditions) but definitely a big no no here.

I can't really see either way being much better than the other really. They both have their pros and cons. Our glasses are a mixture of both really, but mainly upside-down.

anyone else think there are too many polls going on at the moment??

perhaps we should have a poll?

2 poll
not 2 poll

Yeah, that's the reason I don't do it too, a glass that's had stagnant water sitting trapped inside it isn't nice, bacteria grows in the warm and damp then it smells like an old dishcloth.

They are completely dry when they come out of the dishwasher but I like to be sure.

Upside down, but that said, I have mesh on my glass shelf, so doesn't get full of dirt around the rim. And either way I usually rinse them before drinking from them lol.

Sideways. Some glasses fall out sometimes, but I've always believed that Darwinism applies to everything and not just living things.
