After a bit of a smoking session last night the conversation got a bit deep. Something was on tv and either AD or BC was mentioned and we started talking aobut what BC and AD stood for, I said AD is Anno Domini - after the death of Jesus and BC is before christ.

This then turned into discussing if BC 100 was 100 years before Jesus death or before he was born, I said before his death, which progressed onto who was it that killed Jesus.

Me and one of my housemates said it was Jews who killed Jesus and Christ(Jesus?) was a Christian, out other housemate said it was the Romans who killed Jesus and Jesus himself was a Jew - born in Jerusalem. I did think he was supposed to be born in Jerusalem.

I am not religous at all, I think Religion made up over time from someone who maybe fed a few poor families with bread and fish, but certainly did not feed 10,000 people. Religion IMO is also the causes of a lot of evil. I am Atheist.
I do however believe there was someone called Jesus but he certainly did not do a lot of the thing in the bible.

I tried Google searching for "who killed Jesus" and a mass of stories and views came back, all not giving an answer

Cant you just talk about the universe or the source of all creation while high rather some semi fictional character? :P

He actually died from infection resulting from an in-growing toe-nail, but they covered the truth up and made crazy stories up about him which are still perpetuated by the gullible today.

BC is supposed to be the birth of christ rather than the death, although frankly the whole date thing is all out of whack anyway. Historical texts would actually commonly place Christs birth at either 4 BC or 6 AD (as according to Luke christs birth was during the Census of Quirinius, which took place in 6 AD, although Luke also states the conception took place during the reign of King Herod - which was about 10 years earlier. All a bit of a mess. :)

Jesus was a trickster mate like a modern day David Copperfield or Houdini. Coming back from the dead was probably his biggest trick and I would estimate Jesus to have had an IQ of around 170.

Both your house-mates are right in a way; It was the Jewish religious leaders who instigated Jesus death (they accused him of blasphemy) but it was the Romans who actually arranged the execution as they governed Jerusalem at the time. The Roman in charge was reluctant to execute Jesus as he couldn't see that he had committed any crime, but gave into pressure from the Jews to have Jesus executed.

Jesus was hired by the Roman's to control jews. He then got power hungry and was promptly crucified by the Romans. Pontus Pilot was the roman who ordered his death

Luke 19:41-44 said:
Jesus traveled from Galilee to Jerusalem – because he knew it was nearing the time for the Jews to condemn him to death. Upon approach, he beheld the city and wept over it, because of the destruction that was coming in the “time of their visitation,”

He was born in Bethlehem (how'd you not get that from every nativity?), Jesus was a jew (at least when he was born), Romans ordered him executed (i think certain Jewish religious figures lobbied for it a bit though) but it was some special day where one prisoner was let go so the Roman leader gave the people two choices Jesus or some murderer they chose the murderer.

He was put on cross and several days later was eventual killed by a Roman spear through the side and into his heart. (as was traditional after a certain amount fo time u ptere)
