Is the Ares not enough?

ARES was well overpriced. Sapphire did a better job for less money. A full £200-300 less & with better cooling. Maybe Asus can make the MARS II a bit better.

stupid money for stupid people in my opinion, you can get 3 5870's for the same price which outperform it, u work it out,

Haha, I think you guys are missing the point.
It's more of a "look at us and what we can do!" rather than creating a best buy commercial product ;)

£1000 isn't much to some folk, no trolling intended. Some people spent that on designers clothes so GPUs like this start to make some sense.

Remember there are nutters who spend tens of thousands on modding cars because it's what they're into

Good point, I suppose I'm just a tad jealous because I could only get a 5770!!

looks intresteing.

WOuld like to see some numbers

But as said they will be worth nowt in 10 years.. problery be best to stick the money in the bank and let it grow and buy the best in 10 years lol

These cards are for the same people who go and spend £100 on a pair of jeans rather then go primark and buy a cheap pair. Life is full of expensive things that no one actually needs but still they sell very well it all comes down to if you have enough money for it to be worth it to you.

It would be really funny to see these cards in 10 years or so going for about £10!! That's when I might get one! :P

What this with this 10 years nonsense.
Its all about the now with products like these which you cant seem to grasp & nothing to do with how will its value depreciate as the money to people who have the money to buy theses cards is the least thing on there minds.

Hands up anyone that has bought anything recently (other then a house) with a view to it's value in 10 years time stupid way to look at it. As with all things over priced there is a market for these and i bet all 1k of them will be sold and probably quite quickly maybe not to any of us on here but they will sell.

If your gonna be talking about what these will be worth in 10years (which frankly is irrelevant in a market were things are replaced/out of date every 6months), then look at the Voodoo 5 and Voodoo 6. As far as I'm aware they actually get half decent money all considering due to how few were sold and about, so it will be kind of the same with the the MARS II.

Back on topic, I do think it is stupid and overkill but at the same time if that means Asus have to evolve their designs and manufacturing and develop as better more efficient way of cooling the card then I'd say that's a good thing.
