Lame comedians

Not a comedian but I had the displeasure of seeing 30 seconds of "Lee Nelson's well good show".

It was far from well good.

I love watching Doug Stanhope recently.

Agree Lee Nelson is rubbish, just remembered Reginald D Hunter, not only is his stand up extremely funny, he is also exceptionally witty and whilst his accent perhaps lures you into thinking he's not the sharpest tool in the box, he really is very clever.

I think debating over comedians is largely pointless. Everyone has a different sense of humour so unsuprisingly we find different things funny. It's not like arguing about which TV is better than the other, there's no facts and figures. It's all subjective.

I think the mistake made by so many female comedians is that pretty much the sole basis for their material is their sex. They seem to fail to realise that being female is not inherently funny. It's a bizarre self-imposed restriction.

Lee Evans.

His jokes are idiotic. He relies on his chimp like visage to make any material 'funny'.

Oh, and want an amazing comedian?

Harry Enfield...Women know your limits and a weekend in london. Class!

Has anyone seen this standup comedian who I think was on comedy central, he was bold and was talking about how when someone calls your name, your automatically look back without thinking about it, he was going on about other instances where you can't control your neck etc. It was so funny but I can't remember his name and I really want to watch it again.

Anyone else seen something like this?

If you have Virgin Media TV with the XL package. On the 'On Demand' they have loads of episodes of Comedy Centrals Comedy Store. He might be on one of those episodes.

It's like a crap version of Ali G, a few years too late.

I think that's harsh on Ali G :p Ali G was genius at the time. Him interviewing the likes of top politicians etc who all thought he was genuine was brilliant and hilarious television. Him interviewing the Beckhams was awesome.

Lee Nelson is just awful. Period.

I don't think I've found any female comics funny, and it's not as if I haven't given them a chance. I once had to sit through Sarah Silverman's stand up routine and it was absolutely shocking to say the least, totally not funny and as most people have pointed out the majority of jokes from women comics are about how useless men are etc it becomes so well worn that the audience already know what the end of the joke is going to be before it's even told.

Jo Brand... grrr, I think I have more comedy values in my little finger than she has in her entire body, and on size ratio that is quite a feat.

I love Sarah Millican. See is comedy gold!!

Benefit of the doubt was given and checked out on youtube. Cheers for helping me get to sleep.

There are no good comediennes. It's quite ironic as they seem to think they are making a breakthrough by more appearing on TV but actually they are just proving the point.

Someone has already pointed out the obvious, but i assume we are all men here so far.
No one really likes listening to women talk, because they generally talk nonsense and go on for hours about pure crap, that we could easily sum up in 1 or 2 sentences.

This already skews their chances of success because 50% of the nation doesn't want to hear their crap.

omid djalili on the other hand.... :D

How can you find him funny? His DVD which my mum had for a birthday a year or so ago was basically his Live at the Apollo show, except repackaged. It had the exact same jokes which were funny the first time around, but not the 2nd, 3rd and 4th when it became obvious he was just a one trick pony. All he ever seems to do now is shout a lot and play up to the fact that he has Iranian relatives. Great, nobody cares, if it's that good then **** back off there and stop polluting the TV and radio with your unfunny shoutyness.
