**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

is it worth trying to play starcraft 1 campaign in prep for sc2 if youv never played it before? (well i have but really briefly) or just wait and learn from scratch on launch day.

game looks ace, cant wait...... biggest selling game of all time perhaps??? (wishful thinking i know)

Looking to buy a Microsoft X4 keyboard and will be primarily using it with SC2, anyone using it with SC2 at the moment and how they finding it? ie macro keys useful etc?
 
Im still using a Packard Bell keyboard that ive been using since 1996. Theres a considerable amount of grime in it but its still working perfectly

This +1 except mine is an old COMPAQ one. feel the itch for a change and dont want to spend loads, the X4 looke ddecent with backlighting and wondered is the macro keys would be beneficial to sc2?

Nothing like Company of Heroes. That's territory control. Starcraft is starting with one townhall/main building and 6 miners. It's all about build order, unit composition, map control, multitasking (biggest thing), spending your money - the person who spends their money the most effectively usually wins the game. Army control is not important until the highest level - the person with the better army will win the game. Starcraft Broodwar is the closest an RTS will ever be to perfect balance between 3 unique races with very different playstyles.
 
I so hope that somebody makes a mod for this game to add LAN play, its looking great but blizzard left a big damn piece out just to try and make some extra cash :( and considering they made the game for free its pretty annoying, oh well

Im sure that people will make a LAN mod, people managed to create computer AI from nothing so im alost certain the game will be hacked and released even before launch and a mod made for LAN play
 
Yep, exactly a week.

Also, best beta moments anyone?

Mine were:

1. Watching orb's and Rhavanna's streams. I prefer watching SC2 to playing it, and those 2 are awesome.

2. Day9 Daily #100

3. iCCup TV Extravaganza - this was so epic, Raelcun casted for about 36 hours straight. Every good caster came online and some of the funniest games of SC2 were had. I actually watched about 20 hours of this lol.
