I'm pretty into my gaming. What keyboard would you recommend to be best value? Currently I'm using the keyboard I have used for many years. It's one that came with a PC probably around 10 years ago. heh. It's just a crappy old dell keyboard.

I've looked at the G11, it's cheap and nice looking. Seems well rated. G15 seems expensive. My main issue is, never having a gaming keyboard before, I don't see the benefits. An LCD display? for what? Backlit keys I can understand.

What's a good value gaming keyboard for a heavy gamer?

I have both a saitek eclipse 2 and a logitech g15 rev 1, (same shape as the g11 but with the lcd display), some people like to display gpu temps or cpu usage in game on the lcd. However most of my gaming is done using the saitek, good sturdy no nonsense keyboard, backlit keys which is nice for late night gaming plus its very comfortable to use.

The Logitech keyboards always get good reviews.

Personally, I have always used MS keyboards and am currently using a Reclusa which I like.

Going to get the X4 when I no doubt ruin mine by spilling beer in it. :D

I would reccomend this http://www.steelseries.com/us/products/keyboards/7g/information it's a bit pricey for one without useless gadgets but its because of how it's built , the reviews explain it

Hey settler which keyboard displays Gpu,Cpu temps?

I use a Microsoft Reclusa , just a standard keyboard layout with a back light on it. Some keys for cd eject, email and crap etc etc. Get them for 24 quid now, well worth it.

I wouldn't go pay for a pricey keyboard, never understood for the need for a lcd screen on the keyboard, I'm not gonna be looking at it while playing, only useful thing would be cpu temps etc.

G11 and G15 are just too big, unless you arent fussed about size and have a large desk they just get in the way, i have just got rid of a g11 for that reason, nice but just bulky.

I use a g15 there is a big differance between it and other cheap keyboards. Its just the way the keys feel and press and even sound, you dont really realise it till you go back to other cheaper keybaords.

The lcd display is usefull, and can be programed to do a lot of things. As some one said it shows your temp and usage of your cpu and gpu, gives you news updates, it has the date time and a stopwatch.

Some games also have a graphic or a display to go with them, that shows you your health ammo or speed stuff like that.

I too thought the g15 was expensive but it will last me many years so will be value for money in the long run. I had a g11 before the g15 and thats alost a good keybaord.

I use a Merc Stealth illuminated keyboard, I find it very comfortable and the illumination is very good, no iffy or dull spots anywhere.

I've always had my sights set on a G15 when i do need a new keyboard but i can't justify spending on it yet. G19 is just too pricey and i'm not really sure what improvements there are, but i just can't see another keyboard that can compare with the G15.
