Is it ok to store glass bottles in the freezer? I know you're not supposed to leave beer bottles in the freezer for too long or they can explode but presumably that's just because of the gas.

Is it safe to store non-carbonated bottles of any liquid in the freezer?

Liquids tend to expand a little when frozen, hence why they explode, so it's not advisable unless the liquid contained has a low freezing point, ie, vodka.

Well when a liquid turns to ice it expands, so I'd say no.

it's not the gas, water expands when freezing.

Glass is fine, as long as you leave room for expansion, or the contents does not freeze (like spirits)

Just stand it upright in the freezer with a loose lid, once frozen tighten the lid up. Or leave a decent air gap.

You can put it in the freezer to chill faster than the fridge but don't leave it in too long so the liquid freezes. Unless it is vodka then all the powah to ya.

I've stored glass bottles of lager in the freezer and forgotten about them. My house is still intact.

I've done this on 2 occasions with cans of cola, both times I've forgotten about them, only to find a freezer full of brown ice the next day.
