Completely random thread is random and rather useless!

Nevertheless, when saying 'the' do you pronounce it 'the' or 'thee'.

My GF stupidly finds it amusing that I always say 'thee'.
'Could you describe thee product in more detail, perhaps?'

Word following starts with a vowel sound use "Thee" word following starts with a consonant sound use "Thuh". So "Thee product" would be wrong while "Thee hour" would be right.

Thinking about this, I don't actually use it in every sentence, it's just continually brought to my attention when I do use it, which is rather a lot.

I would find that amusing too.

"thee" when the following word begins with a vowel sound, not just begins with a vowel (example: the(e) hourly rate)
"the" when the following words doesn't.

thee end.
