What makes you sleep well ?

I don't sleep well in a totally silent room. I like the window open so I can hear cars going past, the sound of the rain on the rooftops, etc.

Youll love my house, i have a river bubbling away less than 20 metres down the valley

Earthquakes if I'm honest. Can't predict them, but when they come, I'm out like a light, I love the swaying motion. That and very heavy rain.

I watch a game called "Go" to sleep. It's a 3000+ year old Chinese board game, very simple to learn, very hard to master. Much better than Chess. I set a shutdown timer for 20 minutes and fall asleep while watching.

If I read before I go to bed it helps me get to sleep. It distracts me from whatever has gone on during the day and lets me relax.

Either that or a few beers :p

On a fun night = Sex

On a relaxed night = Silence, good book, sleeping pill and a cup of tea.

EDIT: Oh yeh Goose Feather and Down pillows. Yum

Loverly

Are you near a busy town etc.?

It's something about having people going on about their lives around me, if i'm in the middle of nowhere well away from a town/city it drives me mad.

Depends on my shift a lot of the time.. I tend to sleep easier after a night shift than days.. and if i'm doing the transition from Nights to Days I can struggle.

If you do a lot of exercise, in general you should sleep better. Also a healthier diet with lots of fruit + veg. And keeping a consistent 24hour cycle, ie: sleeping and waking at similar times helps :)
