**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

system has changed recently due to hard disk replacement, memory module failure and removing of watercooling (back on air) but 8800GTS overclock remains the same, a fair bit over stock frequencies. so the game is actually released on tuesday right? cancelled pre-order since i got sick of waiting for the game, which has been so delayed more or less constantly, but intent to go down highstreet and pick-up a copy on the tuesday :)
 
Apparently there will be no pre release reviews and it will require a release day patch to activate so no chance of it leaking or playing it early.

Is the activation code tied to its game client region, or is it just the game client that is region specific?, and if so, which is the key for matching it with your Battle.net account region?

Game activation keys, game licenses, and game clients are all region-specific. As noted above, if your game license and installed game client regions don’t match, you won’t be able to login.

If the country associated with your Battle.net account (viewable in Battle.net Account Management: https://www.battle.net/account) is accurate, you should be directed to the correct regional download when visiting this page: http://beta-us.battle.net/en/info/digital-purchase

If you have already purchased a physical copy of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, but still wish to download early, you will need to make sure that the regional download matches the region for the physical game you purchased.

Unfortunately Incgamers didn't include a link to the original forum post. However if this is the case it seems that you can pre-download, all you need to do it make sure you've downloaded the client matching the region of your retail copy. For us plebs in the UK, that'd be the copy from http://eu.battle.net/en/info/digital-purchase.

Given that account creation is separate from the installation process, this does tend to make sense.
 
got an email today saying my pre-order had been cancelled due to bank refusing to pay ,i thought WTF so i checks my account details at game and my card details had been swapped back to my old cc . i can reorder it but i might have to pay full price now , i will have to ring game up to see if i can get it at the same price :(

I had the same issue before and they let me re-order at the old price - just ring them.
 
I don't understand why people are going to avoid/refuse to buy this game because its' publisher is Activition, can someone enlighten me?

They are destroying PC gaming, go read what they did with CoD: MW 2 on PC.

They also killed SoF for me, so they can all die of cancer as far as I'm concerned.
 
Purple store is processing mine oddly i have placed hundreds of orders with them and this one they decided to credit check o.O its awaiting picking/packing so i should get it monday however lucky sometimes Tuesday releases i get sat so here`s hoping! :D
 
Wondering when ShopTo will despatch.

There usually great with preorders. Expect it to be despatched this evening with most expecting to have it monday.
